Last evening, Jane posted:

Quote
A friend sent me information on a deadly form of breast cancer I have never heard of, IBC or inflammatory breast cancer.  They symptoms are very different from regular cancer.  There are no lumps & can't be detected with a mammogram.  Often doctors think it is just a mosquito bite or an infection.

Go to this site and watch the first video:
http://www.komotv.com/ibc/

I must apologize to all the women of HHW (as well as all female lurkers) for not having posted this weblink previously.

KOMO-TV in Seattle broke the story of IBC over a year ago for the first time anywhere.  It is indeed a shocking and frightening new story that all women should read.  I guess I was under the impression that since this story broke last year; that the story had made headlines around the entire country.  My mistake, apparently.

In the exquisite gift shop at Ten Chimneys, I purchased this for our DS Rob:

...and I've unpacked everything and cannot find it.  Won't the next people to stay in the apartment at the seminary be surprised if they find them on the floor?

Well, I can just say a little "evening hello" and say that I too am in spirit with all of the NYC studlies and lovelies and pixies and vixens.... and the loveliest of all, our dear Esteemed BK.

Hey BK.... did you take your ravishing gown with the golden balls with you to New York??  I'll bet it would be remembered at auditions!  :)

And for an abbreviated TOD :

First trip to NYC in mid summer of 1962.  by myself.

flew there on ?? airlines.

Saw "A New Leaf" at Radio City Music Hall, along with the (still) complete stage show, full orchestra in the pit, full Rockettes, full separate corps de Ballet, variety acts, and of course the Wurlitzer organ doing the 20 minute play in to the feature film.

Didn't get to see any other theatre that time.

Couldn't believe the vastness, looking north or south on the Avenues.

And now, I have to get to a few evening things, then back home and a nice walk for Sugar.

Happy and productive "audition vibes" for you, BK....

DR Laura, next time I move I’m offering you an all expense paid trip to wherever I am.

Music Guy, I’m pleased your new home is beginning to come together now.  How is Sugar adjusting?

At 6:30 pm my taxi headed down 9th Avenue to 46th Street.  At 6:40 because of the heavy traffic the meter said $7.50 and we were at 51st street, the next time I looked and we were at 49th Street and the meter said $9.30.  I left the cab and walked to Joe allen's where I had a lovely dinner and visit with DR Jose and our might BK.  When we left Joe allen's at 9:00 and walked up 9th Avenue, the traffic was still piled up! What the hell is the traffic problem on a sunday evening?  The City has got to begin traffic control in this Burg.

So, I'm home, chilling out and getting ready for tomorrow: Toyland, an afternoon of auditions, and then a visit chez Skip and DR FJL.

DRs Jennifer, Cilla, JRand,  &Mattt H – Thank you.  It is exciting both our son’s are at important moments in their lives.

TPunk-Are you sleeping with several pillows to keep you elevated?  That is the best way to keep the cough away at night.  Since it is summer eat watermelon & drink the leftover juice.

Some day I hope to walk into Joe Allen's for dinner, but not alone or as a tourist.  I hope to walk in with a large number of good and dear friends; all of whom I originally met in BK's warm and lively living room.

Cilla-WOW!  What a trip at 15, or any age.  That was a wonderful story.

Jane, best wishes and good vibes to both Craig and Bryan.

Also, Jane, you had me worried for a minute, when you started a sentence with, "TPunk, are you sleeping with...."

Let me get this straight - eight pages?  This will NOT do.  Certainly the other coast is not pulling their weight, oh, no, they are not pulling their weight.

Back from a lovelier than lovely meal with elmore and Jose.  As we walked into Joe Allen, a gentleman on his way out turned to me and said, "I'll be checking your blog tomorrow."  Isn't that funny?  I think we have many, many lurker/readers, and it always surprises me to hear that sort of thing.

I've had this "air conditioner" unit on since I arrived and it's about ninety degrees in here.  Terrible.  This place will not be an option for the big trip, even if she were to offer me a deal.

TCB-Thank you and  ;D

We spoke to Bryan today.  He is taking the day off & trying not to think of the early morning test tomorrow.  It lasts 6 hours with only three 10 minute breaks.  He has to sign out & back in for each break which won't leave much time for a drink, maybe a snack, & a bathroom break.

It will be 4 weeks until he receives his score.

First trip to NYC 1968. No theater but went to Radio City Musical and saw the show and the Disney movie The One And Only Original Family Band. Which is best remembered as the film in which Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell first met. Actually she was Goldie Jeanne Hawn and she was the Giggly Girl in the film. I haven't been back to Radio City since.
