Topic of The Day

I suppose Brent Barrett's bedroom doesn't count, since this is a family site.

I would love to go to Oz.  I hear the natives are very friendly; and that some even speak English!

I would also love to visit the Nile Valley.

Thursday morning greetings!  There are hints of cooler weather in the air here in SW Ohio - a very welcome prospect.

TOD - Paris.  Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person my age who's never been to Europe.  One of the most romantic things DH Richard ever said to me was, "Someday, I want to take you to Paris."

Last night, in between memorizing verses of The Waters of March, !, we watched the season one finale of The Closer.

Sensational!  :)

Well, DR Ginny, perhaps if you didn't keep insisting on Manhattan he might!  :-*

Good morning, all!  I have some Brain surgery today and God knows what else.

Last night was a lovely evening with DR Jose and the Gilfrys.  DR Jose already posted our delightful menu, and to answer the Big Question, DRS Jane and Polly: there are applications and payments in the works. In New York real estate nothng's solid till the lease comes through.

You didn't offer them your cubicle at Toyland?

However, DR Ginny, I'm with you: Paris is the place.  I'm currently rereading Balzac's COUSIN BETTE, and I'd like to go hang out there for a while.

I have to get back to my MySpace page now: I've got so many people on the Brain contact sheet to bother!

I've got a long story about a Fat Conductor of Limited Talent and Limitless Ego who thought he would be living in the first Toyland at East 72nd Street!

 ;D

Right now, Manhattan is do-able, while Paris is a little more out of reach.  Maybe for our 30th anniversary - January 2011, not all that long from now.

Every time you mention Toyland I picture Toys In Babeland, which is something else entirely.

They might be connected in the screwed-up mind of the Fat Conductor but I'd never want to go there!

Back from Goodspeed Opera House, where Bill Parry is performing as Papa in High Button Shoes.  I'd never seen Bill do old-fashioned musical comedy before, and this was a real treat!

I just love him. I'm sure he was wonderful.

Good morning!

94 yesterday, and we're supposed to get to 94 today as well. It's very, very dry outside, and the air is rather unbearable.

DR Cillaliz, the easiest thing i can think of to make for your potluck is hummus and pita!   There are many recipes for hummus around (i make it quite often). Get a can of chickpeas.  Add in chopped garlic, olive oil and lemon juice.  I have this special hand mixer and it's made in seconds!  Go to the grocery story get some pita bread and cut it.  It's really good!

BURN NOTICE doesn't come on tonight (U.S. Open Tennis instead), so I can watch MAD MEN "live" and not worry about recording anything.

Looks like otherwise, it's going to be an all-DVD day around here.

BK, you say you're trying to keep rehearsal reportage in the notes to a minimum. I think people here would like to have more rehearsal info in the notes. I know i would.

I enjoyed the two songs from PIPPIN that I watched last night, so I may go back and run the whole thing today. The theater where I did LA CAGE is doing PIPPIN next February, but there's not much in it for me. I don't see myself as Charlemagne, so that leaves the ensemble, and I don't think I want to drive that distance to do ensemble.

I'm going out to lunch with friends today, but afterwards, I have some shopping to do that will keep me away from home (and viewing) for most of the afternoon. I may not get to anything until tonight.

TOD: "London is London" would be my choice. Ideally, I'd like to go with a theater group so we could sample both famous and not so famous shows playing at the time. I'd do the usual touristy places, too, of course.

MBarnum....I am worried about Freddy...has he ever been gone this long before?

He has been gone for 3 days once or twice. I don't recall him being gone this long. I am starting to get worried  :-\  , but I still think he is just locked in someones garage. He has a chip in him so if he ended up at the Humane Society or picked up by whatever agency picks up squished cats off of the street...I am sure they would have notified me.

Of course if he has been cat napped, then that is something else entirely.

I am appreciating all the vibes posted as well as those sent via brainwaves!. Thanks!!

TOD:

Gosh, there are so many places I have yet to see that I would love to visit...like DR JoseP, I would enjoy seeing India, particularly Mumbai. Egypt is another place that would be fun, as well as Hong Kong. There are still many places in Japan that I have yet to see, and given the opportunity, I would go in a snap!
