My q for BK is who is this bizarre west coast dram person? On another site I guessed Gertrude Slysinski(sp?), the real name of a character so memorably played by Miss Penny Fuller(on disc; I never got to see the show)-to backtrack I don't have a favorite newscaster. The kind I don't like is the kind who'll use forged documents from Kinko's in hopes of "throwing" an national election.Keep up the good work in NYC.

That's Malfoy and Crabbe in the picture, too.

Good Morning!

Well.. I'm glad I decided to double-check my rehearsal schedule for today a few minutes ago.  It start at Noon today.  Not 1:00.  So...  However, rehearsal is only an hour, and I believe I'm spending the afternoon going through the book with the conductor.  In any case...

-And I have no idea how I could have read that schedule completely wrong the past couple of days.  No idea at all. Blame me, I guess.

I spent a good portion of yesterday thoroughly enjoying revisiting GREY'S ANATOMY's third season. The storylines didn't really start to go awry until Meredith had her brush with death in that three part arc.

The story itself was moving, and it was a pleasure to see Kyle Chandler and Jeffrey Dean Morgan again in their famous roles, but after that, the writers seemed to feel the need to muck up Derek and meredith's romance past the point of endurance, and they also introduced that absurd Izzie/George coupling that came out of nowhere.

In any case...  Yes, they are cute(!!!!).  And it's looking that my brother will be bringing his family up to NYC in a few weeks for a family weekend.  Since he's in the Coast Guard, he gets some sort of free housing somewhere around here.  -I was going to say Governor's Island, but that's no longer an active Coast Guard base.  In any case, it will be nice to show them around the City.

Hope you got my message last night, Jose.  Call if any problems - don't post your responses to the board, no computer access today, as far as I know.  :)

If I get cable back today (the service rep said it might be as late as tomorrow morning), I'll watch RESCUE ME tonight. If not, I'll continue with GREY'S ANATOMY and probably take a break from it at some point and watch a movie. What yet, I have no idea.

And this is the picture that made me "Awwww" big time today - as well cry a little since I haven't seen them in a couple of weeks, and probably won't be able to see them again until October.  They really do grow up fast.

That is about the most adorable picture I have ever seen!

DR Elmore, I often get just as irritated with Tony Shalhoub's overreaching for effects in MONK. I really watch the show now for the mystery plots (when they're there; it's often a COLUMBO-style backwards mystery which for me aren't nearly as entertaining.)

But really, most comedy shows with eccentric characters have to push harder and harder as the shows run so that the characters can continue to amuse viewers. I think of how extreme all the characters became on THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, GREEN ACRES, even FRIENDS by the end of the run compared to the way they were at the beginning. The character quirks always get exaggerated more and more for effect.

Yes, I meant to comment on her passing, too. So sorry to read this (though she had been out of the limelight for a long time.)

OK - I should gather myself together...

I have "images" running rampant.  Oh, yes!  I have "images" running rampant.

Scarecrow: "They tore my legs off and threw 'em over there. Then they took my chest out and threw it over there."

Tin Man: "Well, that's you all over!"

On my desk this morning:

An envelope with 5 HD-DVDs from Toshiba...the rebate offer on my HD-DVD purchase from June.

The titles:  Blazing Saddles, Seabiscuit, The Perfect Storm, Constantine, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

I know...not my idea of "cherce" selections, overall, but by far the best selections from the titles "offered."

DR RLP - both SEABISCUIT and THE PERFECT STORM are movies that I own and watch now and then.....my guess is that in HD they will be even more enjoyable!!!

DR Jane:  About that high pillow-top bed you fell in love with.  BUY IT!  You can always get a set of those steps for "older" animals that shouldn't be jumping up on things.  Those steps are just the ticket, unless you feel Sherlock would refuse to use them.

I was thinking of "But Alive" from APPLAUSE.

She's certainly matured enough to play Margo.

(Hi!, How are you?)
Paunchy and bleary and fresh out of magic,
But alive!
But alive!
But alive!
