Not to be too graphic, but Callie has the same problem she had 2 1/2 years ago. To put it bluntly she has impacted poop that is hard as a rock and due to the small size of her pelvic opening she can't poop and they can't get it out digitally. So the poor thing has to have warm water enemas in the hope that they can soften it up and she can pass it.

She had the first this afternoon and there was some progress but they have to do it again in the morning, so she'll be in the hospital for a while. I just hope it's not the 9 days it took last time.

I began my afternoon watching GOOD MORNING, MISS DOVE recorded from the Fox Movie Channel. Irritatingly, it was pan and scanned, and since it's a Cinemascope movie, well, you can imagine how dissatisfied I was. Still, I hadn't seen it in awhile, and since it always makes me cry (a lot; very sentimental and beautiful take on the influence a teacher has on a community), I watched it anyway.

Next, I rewatched Monday night's season finale of THE CLOSER. Such a satisfying end to the season.

And I was delighted to read in TV GUIDE that again this December, we're going to get a two part CLOSER special edition, so that will make the wait until next season not quite so long lasting.

I continued my afternoon with a quick scan of today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No gay storyline as I expected, and no sign of it in the previews for tomorrow either.

I concluded my afternoon watching the last half hour of a LAW & ORDER repeat on TNT-HD. This was from the Benjamin Bratt years before the show went to high def, but TNT has up converted the old episodes, and you'd swear they were filmed in high def. Beautiful, rich, and three dimensional picture, and it was an interesting case that involved an incompetent psychiatrist.

Thanks for the vibes for Callie. I'm really much more worried about her than I am Nadia and I. As far and we humans go, I tend to believe if you stay home and rest for one day instead of pushing it you get better quicker and are more productive when you are in the office...just my theory...so what am I doing in the office proofing a letter in Spanish? Pretty cool to know I can still do that.

I find this sadly untrue. Most men who wear Speedos should NOT wear anything revealing of anything.

It's only in movies, on TV and in ads that Speedo bodies are seen in Speedos....seldom in "real life."

We already knew THE CLOSER was a big hit, but here's conclusive proof taken from an article at Zap2It today:

"The third season of "The Closer" finished in much the same way it started -- with another record night in the ratings.

Monday's (Sept. 10) season finale on TNT brought in 9.2 million viewers, making it the No. 1 series telecast in the history of ad-supported cable. The show also held the previous record, 8.8 million viewers, set with its season premiere in June."
