DR FJL, according to the Mayo Clinic:

Oatmeal contains soluble fiber, which reduces your low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the "bad" cholesterol. Soluble fiber is also found in such foods as kidney beans, brussels sprouts, apples, pears, psyllium, barley and prunes.

Soluble fiber appears to reduce the absorption of cholesterol in your intestines. Gel-like soluble fiber binds bile (which contains cholesterol) and dietary cholesterol so that the body excretes it.

Five to 10 grams of soluble fiber a day decreases LDL cholesterol by about 5 percent. Eating 1.5 cups of cooked oatmeal provides 4.5 grams of fiber — enough to lower your cholesterol. To mix it up a little, try oat bran or cold cereal made with oatmeal or oat bran.

Glad to see the networks are willing to endure the backlash when they ruin TV watching for millions of people. If they got the backlash they deserved believe me they would not endure it - they'd take those damn promos and get rid of them so fast it would make everyone's collective headspins. But, people say nothing, and it's only going to get worse and worse. No wonder that so many children are ADD - these cretins CATER to the causes.

I spent the morning watching trhee more episodes of WHAT ABOUT BRIAN. I'm up to episode #18 now, and I'll be surprised if I start to like the show any better. By this point, I think for me it's a lost cause. They've brought Marjorie back into the picture to stir things up, and that was pretty much the end for me. I can't believe either of the guys would have wanted to come within a thousand miles of her, and for Adam to still have feelings after trying to get started on a life with Heather, well, it just burned me up with that kind of audience manipulation.

Big season premiere tonight. I'll be on NBC all night with CHUCK, HEROES, and JOURNEYMAN, and I'll be recording the season premieres of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and CSI: MIAMI. This may be my last season with CSI: MIAMI. I did not like the direction of the show at all near the end of last season, and this may be the end for me depending on what they do with the season's first few episodes.

My favorite Martin Scorsese and Robert DeNiro movie is RAGING BULL. I also found CAPE FEAR completely over-the-top and thus imminently watchable.

I see the creators of Little Egypt (the LA musical currently at NYMF) have discovered the joys of shilling - it's very funny, especially the final post obviously made by the show's director. I like their chutzpah and wish them well here.
