Gee, where IS it from, DR George?   ;)

Well...some random website that I found through Google images.  The article didn't have a picture and I thought that one was necessary. ;)

And is this a slow newsday at HHW?

Well, I guess I can post that I bought fruit at the store today.

Topic of the Day:  For me, it would probably be the very first show that I saw on Broadway, Swinging On a Star:  The Johnny Burke Musical.  Here in Olympia, I had performed in several Chrismas shows with Harlequin Productions that were set in the 1940s and they all featured actual 1940s numbers and were all real feel-good shows, so I came to love the music of that era.  SOAS was very well done.  It had great singers and I felt like they really knew how to put together a review.  It had a point and was one of the highlights of my trip to NYC. :)

Here's a Page Six Swinging On a Star Dance:

Well...not an officially released DVD. ;) A co-worker recorded it for me and made a DVD of it and she cut out all the commercials!  AND she put all the "backstage" footage on another disc. :D I'll watch it when I get home tonight.

Anyone want a copy? :)

Yes, please, DR George.  It's for my mother.  Seriously.

I just read this article:  Joe Nichols Enters Rehab for Substance Abuse

It's almost gratifying to see that someone who is only thirty years old can admit to his abuse problem, be it alcohol (most likely) or drugs.

First off, I do hope we all haven't lost our sense of HUMOR re "is this a slow news day here at haineshisway.com" - that is what we call a runner and is not meant seriously.  You may now resume laughing.

Young Frankenstein - I do not trust anyone from Fox News on anything, let alone having the chutzpah to publish that before opening night - it's no more interesting than the hordes of negative posts that have occurred on various and sundried message boards.

Back from the meeting at LACC and now resting before the Alex this evening, which I probably shouldn't even be going to.

I wouldn't call this a bad day, but I wouldn't call this a good day.  I would call it a medium day.

Tonight i am looking forward to DANCING WITH THE STARS. If i'm not too tired when it is over i may watch HEROES. But i don't like to be sleepy for that one.

Plus i'm going to record a bunch of stuff on tonight (including CHUCK). And i am going to try the new show with Christina Applegate (Something with Samantha in the title). I"m not expecting to like it. But it could be funny.

I will also record JOURNEYMAN and SAVING GRACE (we are way behind you guys).

Well, one of the musicals that made me laugh smile and was just thoroughly entertaining was LEGALLY BLONDE. Is it perfect, no, but I can relate to it in so many ways.  I'm still listening to the CD.  I love a number of the songs, especially So Much Better

BK, have you seen the movie Legally Blonde lately?  It is a critical plot point that the pool boy is lying about being gay and that none of the legal team except Emmet believes that Elle is right about it.  I thought it was cute.  But that's horse racing

I will say, I didn't like the MTV taping, I agree about the audience etc but being there was truly enjoyable and there were no screamers when we saw it.

I do not have too many problems suspending disbelief and enjoying a show unless it is truly awful or depressing.  It's really hard for me to pick "The one" that I enjoyed the most.

Does PETER PAN count for the TOD, even though the show has some points to make?  The Sandy Duncan revival was one of the most magical experiences I've had in a legit theater.

I had an insane day. From the moment I was half way in my office door until I left....I think I sort of hired a new assistant. She'll start part time in November.  The lawyer she works for is phasing out so she can leave town and get married. Martha, yes another Martha in my life, is bi-lingual and has worked as a legal secretary for at least 3-4 years.  My practice is really going to have to take off for her to go full time, which she wants eventually, so I guess I'm just going to have to do that!

I had a number of walk ins today.  That almost never happens and it just kept happening. My head was spinning by the end of the day.  I may have to go back to the office after DWS.  I was hungry and tired so I didn't stay late.   I do like being there at night, so I'll probably go back

OH! I saw that, I loved when she flew over the audience!  That was my first TKTS experience.

I'm not complaining about being busy, that was good and I like it.  I was also asked to run for the Iowa ACLU board.  Since I've been wanting to get back into being an activist again, I told them I would.

DR Jennifer, I am also looking forward to DWS.  So is my mom. I would bet that she is already settled into her chair with her pencil and paper handy so she can take notes...
