About those phantom cat scratches:

Mountain lion cub found in Gilroy, releasedBy Leslie Griffy

A mountain lion cub was released into the wild Sunday after Gilroy animal-control officials tranquilized the cat found in a back yard.

A homeowner reported seeing the 30-pound animal at 8:45 a.m., Gilroy police said.

The cub, estimated to be about 6 months old, had been snacking on dog food, police said.

The cougar was tranquilized in the back yard of a home on the 8800 block of Carnation Lane and turned over to the California Department of Fish and Game.

I apologize for being semi - E&T. I have been fighting a head cold that does not want to seem to go away completely and I was studying for a test I have tomorrow. I am almost done with the reading. About 45 more pages and then review my notes.

Not really big on Latin American history...

BK,
could we do a HHW dog/cat show? One day devoted to dogs, another day devoted to cats. Our DRs could post photos of their DP (dear pets), past and present. Yes, we've seen many of them, but I, for one, sometimes confuse Miss Dixie Bell with Miss Blue Moon and don't have a clear image of Bosco. And I suppose I shouldn't rule out other species, such as Singdaw's whatever.

Have you done this before?

I draw the line at seeing Singdaw's whatever!

Wolves are spreading westward. They are one of my favorite animals. Beautiful creatures.

I'm getting old and sentimental.  I was just very moved by a JIF peanut butter commercial -

JIF COMMERCIAL SPOILER

the one where one of the two brothers cuts the bread in half and generously lets his brother have the "bigger half."

No wonder I don't understand Shakespeare, I can't even understand a JIF commercial.  :)

Good Afternoon!

I like that JIF commercial too.

And I also like that other peanut butter commercial with the father and the daughter where he talks about how he used to love to eat his peanut-butter sandwiches folded in half, and then she proceeds to do the same.  Awww...

Of course, that classic AT&T one with the parents at the table.. "So, why did he call?"...  :(

Oh... And, I, too, woke up with a unidentifiable, unknown cat scratch on the back of my right leg yesterday.  And I have absolutely no idea just how it got there.  I don't even remember being scratched by anything.

Hmm... This is all started starting to sound like a really bad spin-off of "Heroes".

JIF commercials can be quite profound (depending on your medication of choice).

The SoCal fire reports sure put some perspective on the annoyances we're feeling here in the rain.

I'm actually about to call him.  *And I wondering if the fires have interfered or curtailed his plans to run the NYC Marathon in two weeks.

Well.. Just talked to my brother, Jay. He was sweeping up the ashes on his front walk.  :-\  Thankfully, with the way his development is set up, the likelihood of the fires reaching his area are slim, but, again, no one ever really knows... if the winds get crazy, well... In any case, his workplace did shut down yesterday, so he's been at home all day watching over things and cleaning.  And, yes, he's still planning on coming in for the marathon, and, thankfully, he's been tapering of his runs in preparation for next weekend.  But it does look like he'll be hogging the treadmill at the gym for a bit.

Whenever cooking with pears, always use two.

The same could be said about cooking with pairs.
