I began watching CSI at 10, but after the opening teaser, I thought I remembered the episode, and sure enough, checking the DVR guide showed it was indeed a rerun, so I erased it.

So, I watched SMALLVILLE. Enjoyable episode, nice to see them doing something interesting with Lana. First time we've seen Lionel in weeks.

Tomorrow, I'll have the NBC comedies (sans SCRUBS) and tonight's LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT.

Too much information coupled, I suspect, with cloudy recall. Panty hose are not connected to a girdle. The whole point of wearing pantyhose is to avoid the use of a gridle or garterbelt to hold up the hose. If Mom was fastening hose to the clips on her girdle, they were just plain stockings, not panty-hose.

Too much exposition.

der Brucer

I don't think panty hose was invented yet in 1963, I certainly know that when I started wearing hoisery in 1967/68 or so (fishnet stockings were big then) I had to use a garter belt

Hmmm apparently panty hose was invented in 1959 but became more widely available after 1965.....

He is still hoping to be ring bearer.

With all the lovely things in his garden, he'd better be bearing FLOWERS!

Sadly, Mr. Dukes passed away while filming ROSE RED here in Pierce County.  The treatment received by his widow, Carol Dukes, by the medical examiner's office in our county is a continuing embarrassment to the people who live here.

That is so sad to hear.
I met David Dukes on several occasions at Joe Allen in NYC.  The first time I met him, the UPSTAIRS/DOWNSTAIRS wannabe had just begun its run on CBS.
It seems like every time I went to Joe Allen thereafter, David was there and always remembered me, picking up our conversations virtually at the same place we had left off.
When I finally got to see Mr. Dukes on stage, it was a phenomenal performance, matched by his co-star Richard Gere, in BENT.  After the show, I was sorta numb and just meandered on the street, where the stage doorman suddenly called out to me (honestly, I had no idea I was even near a stage door) that Mr. Gere and Mr. Dukes were on their way out, and if I wanted to meet them, I should step inside. . .once again, David remembered me and promptly introduced me to Richard Gere.  Gere told me that since it was between shows, he and David were going out for a quick bite and that I should come along if I didn't already have plans.  . .UNFORTUNATELY, I had a bus to catch in less than a half hour, so I missed out on dinner (probably at Joe Allen) with David Dukes and RICHARD FRIGGIN' GERE!

I remember my mom and my sister using garter belts and my sister would have only been 9 in 1963, so I suspect pantyhose either weren't around or not widely used

Well I don't necessarily remember them in 1963, I'm sure I was older when I remember them....my point is, in 1963 most women were probably wearing garter belts....

I can't sleep. Neither can Boo. It could be the full moon. With Boo, I think the Japanese Lady beetles are like speed.  She eats them and then has boundless energy.

DR TCB forced me to search the web for more information on David Duke's death, and I came up with this wonderful piece by his widow:

These kangaroos are about 5 minutes drive from our house. Photographs were taken this evening.
