I had last seen RENT when Joey Fatone was in it, and I remember being impressed by how well the show was being maintained at that time.   But that was several years ago.

The lively and lovely comments about CYMBELINE have piqued my interest and imagination.

AND a fine review for THE FUND RAISER from Variety - The Show Business Bible.

RENT is spent.

NYC has a long history of problems with RENT control.

Question For BK

Have you thought about submitting Murder At Hollywood High for the 2008 Edgar Allan Poe Awards? Dedline is November 30th. There is no cost to enter I believe, just a copy of the book (hardcover)

Good morning!

Chilly and breezy here this morning, and it doesn't look to get out of the 50s for a high today.

That's OK. Inside is where I need to be today (and most days).

After I cleaned the den, I continued watching bonus featurettes on THE AVIATOR Blu-ray (they're also on the 2-disc SD-DVD of the movie, but with Blu-ray's extra capacity, everything can be placed on one disc.)

I watched Howard Shore's discussion of his work on composing the score. I watched Loudon Wainwright talking his and his two children's work in the film. (That's Rufus in the 1920s Cocoanut Grove sequence; can't believe it didn't register with me that it was Rufus when I've seen the film several times).

There are always multiple codes that work with the sale. I usually use USATODAY.

There's also a sit-down with Leonardo DiCaprio and Alan Alda where they talk about working together and working with Scorsese on the movie. The interview/discussion happened the day after both scored Oscar nominations for their work, and both were very pleased about it. It was Alda's first nomination.

ABC's entire primetime line-up is preempted tonight for the CMA Awards, so that will give me an additional two hours of viewing time for other things. I'll be working on the Blu-ray of THE POLAR EXPRESS tonight, so I can use the time. There are quite a few bonus features on that disc as well.

At 10, I will be watching LIFE "live," and I'll record CSI: NY. Hopefully, I'll be able to get to DEXTER, BOSTON LEGAL, and SVU today as well.

Hello, everyone.

Yes, I've been rather E&T and am waaayyy behind in the posts.
Yesterday, with a ton of work to do, I came home to find that my ISP was having "technical difficulties." Sigh. So if any of you were expecting a reply from me--sorry!

BK, Adrianna, and Cason...you all should be very pleased with how the show turned out and that, at least, you 3 were willing to take on a task to help out your ole LACC.

Congratulations!

Now, hopefully Adrianna and Cason will have more time to post now.

Just reminded that WITH A SONG IN MY HEART comes out at long last on DVD next week. The Fox Movie Channel showed it a few weeks ago, but I didn't want to watch it there, so the DVD of it will be my first encounter with it in about 20 years.

DR MBarnum,

Did you buy the ROUTE 66 Season 1, part 1 box set? I read a review at DVDTalk that was very harsh with the video quality and wondered if you had it and had watched any of it yet. I'd love to see some of those episodes again. I have only vague memories of the show from my youth. I do remember George Maharis was THE big heartthrob at the time - the McDreamy of his era (along with Richard Chamberlain and Vince Edwards).
