Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I'm back from the gym, and I have a feeling my legs will be little sore later on this afternoon.  -Read that in any way you want, since I know you already have.  ;)

And I just received an e-mail about this from one of the authors, and I have a feeling a couple DRs may be interested in it too:

Just click on the pic for more info.  And to order it from Amazon.  ;)

And what should they do if the pianist can't play their music?

Thursday morning greetings!  Here at work for the day, then tomorrow is our annual Staff Day.  That means that the entire system is closed - how sad do you think I am that it happens to fall on what would be my information-waitressing day for the week?

DR Elmore - here's a virtual {{{{{HUG}}}}} to hold you over until I can deliver one in person.  There's comfort food and friends who love you on Poinciana.  C'mon over!

Thanks for the info on the new sitcoms book, DR JoseSPiano - sounds great!  Their musicals book is a real treasure.  I don't have a clew how they can put these tomes out for the ridiculously low price that they do.

That's a music cue if I ever heard one.

From Celebration, in case you're wondering.

It sounds like a lead-in to "Hard Hearted Hannah"!

DR Singdaw, I don't mean to sound hard-hearted, but when you're around this every day you do become somewhat jaded.  I'm not denying that homelessness is a huge social problem, it's just not up to the library community to solve it.

DR Ben, I'm not familiar with Celebration, but see that it's by Jones & Schmidt.  Can you elaborate?

Can y'all tell that I'm catching up on publishers' catalogs and review journals?  Here's another book of interest:

Riverside Park:  The Splendid Sliver, by Edward Grimm; photos by E. Peter Schroeder - an illustrated tribute to Frederick Law Olmsted's "other" city sanctuary

Good morning!

Very cold this morning (below freezing) and only warming to the low 50s this afternoon. Time to bring out the jackets now.

Couldn't agree more about the excellence of UP THE DOWN STAIRCASE. It's a fabulous book (should have won the Pulitzer Prize), and the movie is top-notch in every respect.

The book only increased my desire to be a teacher, and so many of the truths in the book certainly manifested themselves in my own classroom over the years.

I'm expecting the three Pixar/Blu-ray releases today and must start on them as soon as they arrive. Since the discs came out on Tuesday, meeting the street date deadline is impossible, but these matters were beyond my control. Disney was late getting out copies to seemingly all the review sites.

Another full night of TV programs tonight. CSI is doing a crossover episode with WITHOUT A TRACE tonight, and I haven't decided if I'm going to watch them both. I've discarded WITHOUT A TRACE this season from my viewing list, and I'm expecting they'll wrap up the first story within CSI's running time. However, for safety's sake, I guess I'll set the DVR to get them both.

I've said it before and I'll say it again--someone (maybe someone who even knows Fred Karlin and has recorded his music before) needs to license the UTDS soundtrack from whoever owns the United Artists catalog now and release it on CD!!!!
