Got my shopping done quickly at the store (no lines at check-out) and was able to get back with time to watch quite a few things.

I began by watching last night's 30 ROCK. A very funny show with David Schwimmer playing a Green Vote advocate hired by Alec Baldwin for GE. Very funny stuff once David gets the big head about his influence.

Next was THE OFFICE that was simply hilarious, especially the first half with just great lines and some very funny sight gags with Dwight around the office.

As I was finishing lunch, I watched LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. It was a good case this week and one was never quite sure who was doing what to whom until all was revealed near the end.

Next came the Blu-ray disc of CARS. A beautiful looking high definition encoding of this complexly animated film. Yes, the detail on the disc is simply staggering and the sound was top notch as the sound design for all Pixar films seems to be.

I watched the film all the way through and then began again listening to the two audio commentary tracks. I would spend ten minutes with one and then switch to the other just to get a feel for the flow of each conversation. I think director John Lasseter's track is the better of the two (the other one is a combination of four of the team's designers).

I also started watching the documentary shorts that are on the disc.

Thanks, Jane!

That's actually where I've been looking; the stove I'm thinking about is on sale, $157.50 discount. I also think I can get a nice rebate from the gas company, so maybe that wil help pay for running the gas line!

Off to sort laundry in preparation to go to the laundromat. Can't wait to get the laundry pair over here and hooked up, too!

In my CD player right now:  Ellen Greene and Christian Klikovits' "In His Eyes."  Has anyone else heard this??  Ellen's a fabulous singer, but talk about a depressing line-up of music! :-\

Good Afternoon! once again...

Well, I decided to spend some time with the DVR over the past few hours...  This week's "Ugly Betty", and the American Masters profile of Carol Burnett.  Some time well spent in front of the TV.  :)

And ALL of the Osmonds - over 100 of them - are currently on Oprah.  -And, it was actually filmed after their father passed away.  *And it's been "interesting" spotting some of the "newer" Osmonds who obviously seem to be in their rebellious teen years - an Osmond boy with longer hair than Marie's!  ;)

AFter reading the tail end of last night's posts...

DerBrucer deserves this:

Finally some logic!

Did you see my rant earlier this week about the nickname issue at UND. I agree NCAA is operated by its own agenda and they want to successfully punish those who are not of their standard.

Ah, I see it's part of a trend...

If you're going to end your day with this:

Then you might as well start your day with this:

Truffles and gold: It must be time for breakfast. Frank Tujague of The Westin New York hotel at Times Square has created the $1,000 bagel. The bagel is topped with white truffle cream cheese and goji berry-infused Riesling jelly with gold leaves. The chef created the unique treat to help raise funds for the Les Amis d'Escoffier Scholarship, which gives scholarships to cooking students. The $1,000 bagel is only available until December 14 and has to be ordered 24 hours in advance.

That is quite the bagel!

At that price it should be made of the finest dough!

I do like the top desert thought.. Chocolate is my weakness
