Wednesday morning greetings.  Well, the nasty winter weather we're having has messed with my plans to see DR Jason this morning.  I was supposed to attend the 9:30 performance and stay for the sponsors' brunch at 10:45.  But, my 40-minute commute took me an hour and a quarter and got me downtown too late to walk over to the Victoria Theatre in time.  So-o-o-o, my friend there has suggested that I attend the brunch (at which the cast members are scheduled to make an appearance) and stay for the 11:30 performance.  In about 20 minutes I'll make the decision whether or not to mush the 4 blocks.

Hear, hear!  I hope you can do it, DR Ginny.  You may have to attend the brunch in disguise so DR Jason doesn't know you're seeing him until after the second show!

"The Pompous Gasbag" is the name of my new television series.

It will star Gale Gordon, Raymond Bailey, and Roy Roberts.

A friend I met on the internet but never in person just let me know that he and his wife added a baby girl to their family. So, I am off to do some pink shopping!!!  :)  I also have a fire truck to send to the big brother. One mustn't ever forget the older siblings, you know.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement.  Think I'll bundle up and head out in the snow - maybe the walk and the festivities will cheer me up!

Bye for now.

Good morning!

Very cool morning but should warm up to the 50s today. Lots of white clouds but there is blue sky to be seen, unlike yesterday.

Tonight I have all new episodes of PRIVATE PRACTICE, LIFE, and PROJECT RUNWAY. This should leave plenty of time to get caught up with previously recorded shows like DEXTER and SVU.

I should have no trouble getting to the DVD of NAKED BOYS SINGING today. The running time is 83 minutes, so I should find the time easily to get it watched today.

And I'll continue working my way through the MURDER SHE WROTE box of season seven.

I still have some Blu-rays waiting to be watched: KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, THE DEPARTED, THE UNTOUCHABLES. Doubt I'll get to any of them today.

Yesterday I received Season Five of the Doris Day Show.  I watched the extras....no interviews are included this time.

Like Season Four the "out takes" sections consists of endless, and I do mean ENDLESS....footage of Doris during the "fashion show" sequence of one episode.

Doris does do commentary with Jimmy Pierson on two episodes....she mostly comments on how beautiful her clothes are and how the color is all wrong.....nice to hear her....but I regret to say, it was sort of boring....no insights, but then Pierson doesn't lead her very well.

Does anyone know how we would go about nominating MR BK to serve as a guest programmer on TCM?

Gnocchi:  DS Betsy had a delicious gnocchi dish (I might have sampled a bit, LOL) in marinara last night at the restaurant we went to.  The kids had a nice first night of Chanukah--I spent yesterday going around to my various hiding places and remembering everything I had bought for them over the past year, and I gave them a really cool CSI Forensic Science kit, which they loved.  DS Betsy got the Bush Countdown Out of Office calendar, which is hysterical, and the Sound of Music companion book.  I got Sicko and a really cool octopus shaped back-rubber thingy.

If he wanted to do it, why wouldn't he contact TCM himself? His name would mean more in the business than many of us.

Those sound like fun gifts, DR JMK. I have a couple of CSI computer games that have been given to me that I've never played.

Heading down now to get cleaned up for lunch out with friends. We're going today instead of tomorrow which has caused me to occasionally think today is Thursday instead of Wednesday.

TODDLERS GROW UP!

•   Dec. 5: Polar bear Knut, formerly cute, eats his birthday cake on his first birthday at the Berlin zoo in Germany. Knut, who won the hearts of millions around the globe as a roly-poly orphan cub, celebrated with a cake made from 300 eggs and 20 pounds of marzipan.
