I think that Jack Nicholson plays creepy so well that I cannot watch his movies. Well, if I watched movies, that it.

Churro was one of the favorite Hollywood Squares stars.

Churro was married to Xavier Kugel.

Churro's catch-phrase was "Crunchi-crunchi"

I'm glad that The Brain clips made it to YouTube.

A few of the cuts were self-editing, i.e. the cameras themselves decided where to make the cut! :)

I just saw a MadTV clip that was a collection of their Abercrombie skits and it was well over 20 minutes. I thought 10 minutes was the limit on YouTube. Hmmmmm.

I like THE TWO JAKES just because it's fun to see Van Dyke Parks. I agree that the score is not his best work, but beleive it or not, there was sheet music of the theme published. I have a copy, signd by VDP himself when we started working together on the score for "Ociee Nash": "Finally we get to make music together! Fondly, ..." etc  Awwwwww....

I also like GOIN' SOUTH because of his score.

I am still afraid to put up a tree, especially since the only place it could go is next to the cat condo. I have lots of wonderful ornaments I've collected over the decades, many from beloved friends and family members, but it just seems too risky!

DR Laura, what are the badges that Kerry and some of the others are wearing around their neck? Is it an "I'm a visitor, be nice to me" badge, or a type of hazing ritual? :)

I ended up wrapping all of the gifts for Randy, joAnn and family instead of going up to the lab.  I'll hit the lab tomorrow and Fed Ex on my way to Toyland.  I thought it was supposed to get easier as you appraoch old cootdom.

I'm going to go the the mix today for the Gold Museum documentary I cut a few months ago.

I recommended the composer without ever having worked with him and he's been very discreet about giving us previews of his music, as in...nothing! It's the first time I decided to use someone because I had a good feeling about him, but he's a friend of a friend and had left a lucrative dental practice to write music for films, and in that way I am an "enabler" and want to help people in some way to accomplish what is in their hearts to do, art-wise.

He had a nice demo, but that's very different from underscoring. I've worked with many composers who thought their music should always be center stage, wich doesn't work for a film like this. This is often the mark of inexperience---meaning they haven't been beaten into submission enough to understand that the score should serve the purposes of the film.

I'm hoping this guy is already there, but it's still a bit scary. And I hope to report that I was pleasantly surprised and pleased!
