I just saw a MadTV clip that was a collection of their Abercrombie skits and it was well over 20 minutes. I thought 10 minutes was the limit on YouTube. Hmmmmm.

whatever happened to Ike Barinholtz?

DR Laura, what are the badges that Kerry and some of the others are wearing around their neck? Is it an "I'm a visitor, be nice to me" badge, or a type of hazing ritual? :)

Just name tags. Everyone is supposed to wear one, but some people have a way of losing them every week.

One of the stories I heard about our conductor yesterday was from a concert I worked at Lake Lanier. He stepped on the podium, touched the mike and got a big shock, which startled him.

One musician whispered to another: "Thank god he's not a very good conductor"! LOL!

The Atlanta Pops did an album that was a country equivalent to "Hooked On Classics".

Here's a sample, to take you back to the 80's!

Good morning!

Very cold but simply beautiful December morning. Glad that nasty rain is behind us and can do some shopping today in the sunlight (cold though it will be).

This is the song they used as walkout music after the memorial service. Albert used to conduct the orchestras for Floyd Cramer, Boots Randolph and Chet Atkins, so their songs are in the medley.

It started out sounding all sentimental and then when the drums kicked in everyone cracked up and it was a great upbeat way to end the service. Albert would have loved that!

DR ELmore, listening to the Farrellys in the commentary and on a couple of the bonus features on the DVD show that they really are nice guys. They do things on their sets to keep up morale (practical jokes, egg toss contests, costume contests) and treat everyone with friendliness and ease. But their film humor is really frat-boy stuff and obviously not intended for the likes of me.

There are new episodes of JOURNEYMAN and CSI: MIAMI tonight. This is the penultimate JOURNEYMAN. The last episode is Wednesday night at 10.

I haven't liked any of the films that Jack Nicholson has directed. But I'll look forward to getting to THE TWO JAKES eventually. I saw it at the theater, and I think that's it unless I got the laserdisc in a cut-out bin. I can't really remember seeing it a second time, but since I watch so much stuff, it's easy to forget.

Monday morning greetings!  Well, I did call in sick for both today and tomorrow.  Many folks would go to work sneezing and coughing like I am, but I'm not that desperate to earn the "no sick leave used" incentive.

Love BK's YouTube Brain clips.  The British one... :-\

Today I'll finish up with HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE, and then I'll watch BE YOURSELF for sure. With time left over, I'll probably start HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE until JOURNEYMAN comes on.

I have a busy afternoon of shopping to accomplish. I have two Christmas dinners/gift exchanges later this week, and I have small things to shop for people attending each one of those dinners.

Do any of you musical gurus on the site have experience with the Yamaha Motif ES6?  I have the opportunity to get a lightly used one (only by a grandmother playing hymns on the weekend, LOL).

Off to get cleaned up now for my lunch out with best friend John. Then, off for some last minute holiday shopping.

Do any of you musical gurus on the site have experience with the Yamaha Motif ES6?  I have the opportunity to get a lightly used one (only by a grandmother playing hymns on the weekend, LOL).

DR JMK - The Yamaha Motif series have started to become the keyboard of choice in a lot of the pits here in New York.  In fact, we used them on Lestat, and I believe A Chorus Line will be switching over to them for the tour.  Only the 88-key models use their "balanced hammer effect" keyboard, but their standard keyboard action does feature "initial touch" and "aftertouch" capabilities.  *I almost took mine with me from the Palace last spring since no one really knew who they belonged to while we striking the pit.  It turned out that Yamaha provided them for us.  -And got them back.

The ES6 has 61 keys. (The ES7 has 71, and the ES8 has 88.)  There are a ton of sounds on board, as well as the capability to add your own, and/or link it to another sound source/module.  It can sequence, sample, arpeggiate and loop up a storm.

If you can swing a good deal on it, I'd say go for it.  Just check out Yamama's own site for the specs (and manuals - and it's quite a manual!).
