Mornin' Larry. Will you be at Toyland today? If so, perhaps Anthony can amble on over (it's supposed to be a beautiful Spring day in the midst of Winter) and deliver a little copyright infringment to you.

In honor of the daily topic, will he also do a preamble?

What?  No one said "And one for Miley!"

I don't know Miley Cyrus, but I do know Meina tsouris (a Yiddish reference)

Good morning, all!  Yes, DR Ben, I will be in Toyland around 10:30, after I visit my barber in Radio City.  I don't plan to be there past noon, so if Ant wants to stop by, I have a book there to give him.

After Toyland, I have a fast jaunt to the NYPL and then hie myself back here for some more IRS tallies.  I have a lot of receipts to add up.  First, though, a trek to the bank to deposit a check.

DR FJL, what's new?

DR singdaw, perhaps your new fame on recycle bins can answer the ENCHANTED question that haunts me, Is rodent rage on the rise?

I love today's TOD, since it's bound to stump DR MBarnum who has yet to encounter a mainstream movie.  As for me, I can't think of anything to recommend.

Thanks for the update Lar. I have informed Anthony of his options. I also gave him the address and your cell and home phones in case he wants to call you.

Shia LaBeouf is a very gifted young actor whose star is on the ascendant.
Miley Cyrus is the daughter of Billy Ray; she has a television show for Disney.  Millions of screaming tweens know her as Hannah Montana.
So much for today's lesson in Pop Culture 101.

I have seen Shia in a couple of things and thought he was okay.  I think his name is pronounced Shay, but it could be Shy - but it still sounds like something on the menu.

All of the posts today seemed so familiar - so I looked again, and when I came here after the notes for some reason I was reading posts from January 4.....going back and clicking again got me the current posts.

What did DR derBRUCER say about his birthday?

TOD:

Fury at Showdown - a western with John Derek and Nick Adams playing brothers directed by Gerd Oswald.  B/W movie that clips along and has a great fight scene with Derek and John Smith!

On Encores Western Channel this month, set your DVR's.  Also features Carolyn Craig from HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL.

I know Hannah Montana! :)

My 12 year old niece (well actually my sister's actual niece) loves her.  I had to get her the cd for Christmas. And listen to her and her friend perform some of the songs!

I also had to watch Zoey 101 (with jamie lynn spears). I had never seen that one before. these 14 year olds live at boarding school. No parents!

DR ronP, I had not heard about the Golden Globes being cancelled (very sad about that). But i had read last week about HEROES stars (who play Peter and Claire) dating.

Oddly enough i mentioned it to my sister who had not heard (she is almost always way ahead of me on news like this).

I think it said she is just 18 and he is like 30ish.

I'm not sure how i feel about this. She seems a bit older and he actually seems a bit younger than 30 to me.  She's been acting since she was a child (i remember her from GUIDING LIGHT when she was little). So maybe she's more mature than the average 18 year old.

One thing i will say is that I noticed the chemistry on HEROES (before their connection was revealed). And i remember a lot of people on the boards wanting them to be a couple on the show (myself included!).

But they can't...not "on the show".  On the show, she is his niece!

I may go into San Francisco today.  My co-workers are visiting a showroom (Haworth) in the Embarcadero area to see the latest line of office furniture/systems.

I liked one of the first episodes...with Miss Jane attempting to make a young lady out of Ellie May.   As Jed tries to appease Miss Jane's frazzled nerves and talk EllieMay into the house from the branch of a tree, Ellie comes in and shows Jed a brassiere...and tells him she figures it's a double-barreled slingshot!
