Bryan's flight from Chicago is currently 5 1/2 hours late & he will miss the last flight from Seattle to Portland.  Now I'm hoping he can get a free flight, making the hassle worth it.  A free flight will get him back to Chicago for his next interview.

His friend who is watching the Sugar Glider said he can stay the extra night. :)

I thought that this was an interesting placement of two Playbill articles:

Fantasticks to End Run at Snapple Theatre Center in February

and

Orbach to Join Broadway's Chicago Jan. 28

Orbach??  Oh...different Orbach. :)

I explained it to Kerry, DR Vixmom.

When you order a sandwich at the sandwich shop, they ask your name, and then they call your name when the order is ready. Sandra uses a different name each time she places an order. Lately she has been using "old lady" names: Agnes, Edwina, etc. And there are so many great old lady names, but she can only eat so many sandwiches.

It all makes perfect sense in context.

Assuming everything works out with everyone's schedules, it's now looking like our Seattle schedule for THE LAST STARFIGHTER will start after tax season after all, so my worries about my not being able to be fully available during the process are gone.  I may still have to fly back and forth one extra time for work reasons, but being after tax season will make it even easier for me to be available at pretty much all hours.  And of course Skip will be out there for the entire two weeks, with no interruptions.

WHEN/WHERE IS IT HAPPENING??  I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS...if it's possible!! :D

Also, what about a PNW HHW Get-Together? ;D

Thank you Vixmom.  Several hours ago there was mention of a free flight, until they sort of set a departure time & gave him a coupon for a slice of pizza.  Last we spoke the time was changed again & he hopped into a line with a different ticket person.  The one that he had was on the grumpy side & the people in the line next to him (the one he got into last we spoke) received more valuable coupons.

Old Lady Names could give way to other names - don't forget:

Fleur De Lis & Kim Novak

Mother Superior:  You are all dismissed, except for Miss Lis and Miss Novak.

And with that I am officially back in the world of computers at home!

Hoo and Ray.

Part 1 of the saga is over. Now we just need to get the memory tomorrow or Saturday, install it and make sure it's recognized and we will be halfway home (I still need to buy a new computer so we can take this one out to LI).

The installation of the hard drive was surprisingly painless as was the re-installation of Windows XP. I didn't have to talk to Microsoft at all (I guess the software recognized my internal workings) although when I reinstalled Word I did have to activate it. Small price to pay to get things working.

Now that we're on the road again tomorrow and Saturday will be spent tweaking my puter back to the way it was before January 5th (a date that will live in infamy, at least for me).

Anthony is also very happy that we are up and running again. He's got a possible crafting job which may be available for you all to see on-line. Cross your fingers!

DR Edisaurus - would that make DR Ron Pulliam's progeny the CHILDREN OF THE CORN?

Just think what good-looking corn they'd be!   ;)

with a propensity for corn laptops ... Just think, Ronnie P., you could be King of Corn on your very own computer made from corn ...

Latest headline: Fuijitsu Unveils Laptop Made of Corn (I'm telling ya timing is everything -- all this corny talk on HHW today and then this...who knew? ... )

We'd have to change your name to Miss Corn....of course, it would sound like "Ms. Scorn"....but....

We could find ourselves immersed in corn culture...a maize of complexities.

Jerry likes my corn.

I'm just sayin'.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, GINNY & RICHARD!

In a completely unrelated (well, not really, if you think about it) train of thought, I am planning my next Pacific Pops Choir concert (I have to do these about 6 months out so that I have enough time to arrange and chart).  I think our theme will be "We Are Family", and our concert closer will be that great Sister Sledge tune, but I need suggestions for other pops-choir friendly songs with some kind of family lyric connection I could arrange.  So far, I've thought of "He's Not Heavy, He's My Brother," "All Kinds of People," etc.  Suggestions welcome!

Speaking of which, I'm off to direct Pacific Pops.

No free ticket.  They put him on a different flight that left a couple of minutes ago.  Change in the vibe plan.  The ETA is 10:33 & the flight from Seattle is scheduled to leave at 11:00.

Catching the 11:00 flight vibes for our DS Bryan!

Good Evening!

Whew!  But that's a good "Whew!".

:)

It's been a good day.  I had a great lunch with my friend, Chris.  We had a great time catching up on each other's holiday happenings - he went to London for a couple of days with his partner and their son.  They saw a couple of shows, including Dirty Dancing.  ;)

After lunch, I headed on downtown to meet up with my friend, Carl.  Then we headed back uptown and spent a few hours at MoMA... A burger and fries as Burger Joint... Window shopping at Takashimaya... Some browsing at Lee's  Art Shop - they still had a bunch of holiday decor on clearance... A walk through the Time-Warner Center with a stop at Bouchon for a bouchon and an Eggnog French macaroon (YUM!)...  Then Carl headed to The Broadway Theatre to see The Color Purple, and I headed on home.

Whew!

:)

And as for my Chris (DR TCB), he's been doing some freelance graphic art work lately, and he's really become quite adept at PhotoShop.  His Christmas card this past year, was something that he put together from various elements, and he did a pretty seamless job:

*And, no, they did not leave their son all alone on a subway platform.  ;)
