Does PEPE count as an all-star film?

TOD:

Sleuth.

The original, not the re-make.

Hey, there may have been a limited number of parts, but they were all played by stars!

Good morning!

It didn't seem quite as cold this morning as previous mornings, but it's back to very gray skies with some rain in the forecast for later. Seems typically January.

I might try to see some of the Preminger films at the Egyptian this weekend, since I do only live a few blocks away. Which ones do you most highly recommend Bruce?
Personally, Ms. Patti, I don't think BK read your question correctly.  You specifically asked "most highly recommend," which presupposes that, even with a list of films that are all superlatives, some may be even more superlative than others.  If you had asked him "recommend" without the "most highly", then his answer of "All of them" would have made sense.

It's grey overhead here in Rehoboth, DR Matt.

Nice to have something in common!

I loved many of the suggestions of the TOD. My favorites:

HOW THE WEST WAS WON

DINNER AT EIGHT

THE WOMEN

JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG

THE YELLOW ROLLS-ROYCE

I'll also be watching SUPERNATURAL at 9 tonight since I didn't have a chance to see it when it first aired. New episodes of it and SMALLVILLE return next week.

Hmmm...

Madx4 World...

HTWWW...

Cinerama was made for all-star movies.  How else could they fill up that vast amount of screen?

Today I'll be finishing the JAG episode that I began last night and didn't quite finish along with watching RENO 911 and PROJECT RUNWAY. Not sure if I'll get to CSI: NY today or not.

Re: Ugly Betty

I personally would have liked the season to end right where last week's episode left off, with the end of the murder trial.  I don't see why every series has to have cliffhangers dangling all over the place.

DR Jennifer,

As to why MEDIUM won't be on for four weeks. Well, next week is the State of the Union Presidential address which will spill into the 10 o'clock hour.

From what I understand, the next couple of weeks will feature extended episodes of AMERICAN GLADIATORS and DEAL OR NO DEAL.

New MEDIUM episodes will return for part of February sweeps.

It was a pleasure watching HAWAII FIVE-O last week. The last episode in the set was the last episode of the season, but no different from any other last episode: no cliffhangers, no artificial drama. It concluded a two part episode, and that was that.

I LONG for those old days. The cliffhanger stuff is, in most cases, so unnecessary to get me to tune in again next season.

Yes, I love all of those Agatha Christie all-star films, but EVIL UNDER THE SUN is also my favorite one.

Well, kids-

I'm off to see the Wizard doctor.  And after I come out of the anesthesia, I'll be back posting.  Or, just for kicks, perhaps before.  Will any DR be able to tell the difference?  ;)

;D  Oh, dear. Sing, we all love you!

Well DR KERRY - according to a cover article in the June 6-12, 1959 TV GUIDE:

"The changes included the sale of her series (The Gale Storm Show) to Independent Television Corporation last October by Hal Roach, Jr, who discovered Gale for television seven years ago....   And recent events included her show's sudden move to rented facilities at Desilu after the home studio, Roach, became involved in a securities scandal.

"Of all these matters, Miss Storm said she felt worst about the decline of her old studio.  'All of our sets are still there on the soundstage.  I cried on my way out.'"

Miss Storm continues: "I felt a sense of frustration about the show. I would read a script and want to change so many things.  I felt that I was just 'busy Margie' again.  Everything was too broad, too strong."

"So she got the pilot film out and made EVERYBODY watch it again.  So there were changes made.

"As a result ITC agreed to a new production procedure with the move to Desilu.  The cast spends one day around the table thrashing out script and stagng problems before rehearsals begin.  Miss Storm reports that the script budget has been increased from $2000 to $4000."

[The Gale Storm Show was cancelled at the end of it's 1960 ABC season where it had moved from CBS.]

Hello, everyone.

I'm off to the doc in a couple minutes myself--routine appointment, no anesthesia. Probably won't post again until tomorrow.

I, too, have always loved MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. I've read DEATH ON THE NILE, but don't recall ever seeing the adaptation. Must add that to my (lengthy) queue.

Quiz for today.

Here is a photo from an article in the same June, 1959, TV GUIDE, about a young television actor from New York.

He and his ex-wife make about $10,000 a month making hats he designs.

Can you identify him from the photo?

If JRand knows of a way to talk to ghosts, several of you could have some interesting conversations with my uncle and get lots of G2 (intelligence) on Ms Storm.
