Well, you've read the notes, the notes heaved, and now it is time for you to post until the heaving cows come home.

I never saw Victor/Victoria on the stage, but my reaction to the video was almost exactly the same as bk's description in the notes.

Laundry to do this afternoon.

Unfortunately, that's not the same as Magic to Do

We will most likely watch some more Noel Coward this evening after laundry and dinner.

Anthony is doing a reading tomorrow afternoon. A friend has written a new play and wants to hear it. I will be attending.

After that I will most likely see Sweeney Todd with a friend as a week late Birthday event.

I must do a bit of shopping as well since we don't have much food in the house. I can make Sunday dinner (marinated chicken breasts) but we don't have much more for lunch on Saturday.

Work today.  Oh well.....

TOD:

CD - Barry Gray is Go!  a collection of Gray's themes and music for the Anderson series of SuperMarionation programs.  Fun....but these are re-recorded and not soundtracks, so things sound a lot different.

DVD - EL CID

Oh, yes, before I leave, I checked my bank account and my federal tax return has been directly deposited into my savings account! Hoo and Ray!

I checked the status of my state return but because I mailed it there is no information at this point. I mailed it one week ago. I refuse to pay $13.95 for the privilege of filing my state taxes electronically just so I can get a refund faster. I can do it for free on paper. It's an insult to taxpayers (IMHO). But then the State of New York doesn't care much about the taxpayer (or the environment) when they require you to send in not the W-2s that you received from your employer. Oh, no, those are not good enough. I (or a tax preparer for other people) have to fill in a form listing the information already listed on my W-2s. What an astonishing waste of paper. Who the h**l thought of this stupid requirement? It's been happening for at least 3 years now and the number of trees felled for this assinine project could probably build thousands of houses for people who might need a place to live.

End of rant. You are now returned to your regularly scheduled postings.

Good morning, all.  The laundry is in and I've caught up on all of yesterday's posts.  I will not be finished with the laundry until 9:15 or so, which will get me to Toyland around 10 or so.  On the way, I need to stop and buy another gallon of Steri-Fab, my bed bug killer of choice.

Other stops include my accountant's office to drop off some 1099s and a stop at Ron Raines' home to drop off a book for goddaughter Charlotte.  She's currently performing at U of M in John Guare's wonderful play Landscape of the Body, and her mother and godmother Celia Weston are flying to Detroit tomorrow morning to see it.

My media toys are still mostly out of commission. so I can contribute little to the TOD except what I'm listening to on my iTunes:
Liz Callaway
Offenbach's La Vie Parisienne
Several New Amsterdam Theatre Company performances including the   premiere of my restoration of COle Porter's JUBILEE
Guy Haines, who always cheers me up with his excellent pitch and turn of a phrase
Hans Christian Andersen & The Court Jester with Danny Kaye

I hear you DR BEN.  They stopped the FREE internet filing here two years ago, saying they didn't have enough people to process them.

What is the difference?  They have to have processors for the PAPER forms that are sent in?

Crazy.

Off to work.

I am looking forward to starting on the new volume of his letters.  I have to have something to read until bk's new tome is finally published!

How do you like your new home PC, DR Ben?

Morning to all and sundry; get-better-soon vibes & xylophones to bk!

TOD:
On the iPod video: Sunday in the Park with George (note: watching "Children & Art" on the subway is NOT a recommended activity; staring at the iPod and sobbing, I must have caused half the car to start edging away from me... hmm, then again, it might work to get me a seat during rush hour)
On iTunes/ iPod music: five albums of songs by Abie Rottenberg, an Orthodox Jewish composer, who is one of only three songwriters (Sondheim & Harry Chapin being the other two) who have written songs that I can't sing without breaking down completely.

Ben - I think (speculation on my part) they're getting people used to typing in all that darn info from the W-2 right on the return to get us all ready for the day when they will only accept the return electronically, which is a time I'm not looking forward to.

There are some returns that are already REQUIRED to be sent in electronically (corporations with over a certain amount of assets, for example), and we are jumping through hoops trying to get all the info onto the returns themselves without having to attach various paper attachments.   It's adding to the tax preparer's work, and not usually in a profitable (or interesting) way.

I join your rant.  :)
