I've even had time to stop at the Corky's BBQ counter for a sandwich, and I even picked up some of of Dinstuhl's Cashew Crunch, and Interstate BBQ's pulled pork and sauce to take back with me to NYC.

And the chocolate-covered grapes?

Ummmm....I'm pretty sure she already knows she sent you some mail.  Unless, of course, it's several years old....

LOL-I do, the point was to let me know it was received.  Which I appreciate knowing. ;)

My oh my!  Just when I thought I only had bad luck, out of the blue I get an e-mail from the Microsoft Promotion Award Team (which is stangely enough is located in London, rather than Redmond, WA).  Apparently the lucky number randomly attached to my e-mail address was the only correct winning entry, and I am therefore the recipient of £850,000.

Well, it looks like dinner is going to be on me!

Money vibes to our dear Elmore!

And vibes to the downstair neighbor, as well. Bring her some Levain cookies and say "I think you need these". Then, if she wants to talk about her problems, you have given her an opportunity to do so, or she can just thank you and let it be.

Of course, you will need to have some cash infusion before you go to Levain!

Well.....Constance Bennett through Ms Sue Mengers drove a hard bargain with producer Ross Hunter who wanted her badly for the role of the Mother in MADAME X.  Bennett was married to an Air Force Brigadier General and hadn't made a film in a few years, preferring to play poker and be a society matron.

One thing she continued to demand was that her name be in a box on all advertising.  Negotiations continued while Bennett flew off to Switzerland to get some plastic surgery - she had been deathly afraid of doing it before, but felt a return to the big screen demanded it.

Billing was set at her being 4th billed after the title, and special "Constance Bennett as Estelle" on screen (Keir Dullea also received the same billing ",,,,,as Clay, Jr."

The plastic surgery had some complications and Constance Bennett died before the film was released (critics wrote that when John Forsythe greeted her as "Mother" in her first scene, there were gasps in the audience at her visage).

At her funeral, Sue Mengers was among those in attendance.  As the service began, she was heard to remark:  "Well, Connie finally got her box."

I had plans today to make fudge to send as Valentine gifts, since I couldn't do it at Christmas.  Darn, I still can't do it.  I need to back off on many of the things I've been doing & rest my wrist & hand more.  To begin with I'll have to leave the heavier pots and pans for Keith to wash.

I have a request to watch & hopefully vote for Nicolette tomorrow on the Maury Povich show.  Seems there is a competition to win a recording session in NY.

Nicolette (Nikki) is the charming niece of our Dear Friend aka brother to Bruce's high school classmate.

Bruce, she is Maureen's daughter.

Oy, I waited and waited for Dell technical support only to get disconnected. The AC adapter on this laptop goes out. I know exactly what's wrong, but of course I ahve to answer the stupid questions. I'm number 70 in line on the computer and am back on hold on the phone. Who knows which will be faster

Oh good grief, they want to send a new motherboard and a technician to replace it just in case a new cord doesn't work. I'm trying to convince them that I'm willing to just get a new cord and if that doesn't work I'll call back. I do not want to fix the parts of the computer that aren't broken!!!
