ABC is also broadcasting A Raisin in the Sun, an adaptation with the recent Broadway revival cast, on Feb 25th.

I am passing on your compliments to Nicholas.  He is too busy eating his evening cookies to respond.

Thanks for the COMPANY reminder, DR Singdaw, I have my DVR set to record it.  It's being replayed a couple times here on the IPTV digital feed. Don't know if it's the same there

Oh wait, it is the Carter Hotel that is so icky, not the Edison.

The Edison is my regular NY hotel, so it's not icky. And the cafe has been around forever; a great place to meet up with people.

Well, I mean, it's not that it's not icky because I stay there, but that I stay there because it's not icky.

But it won't be the musical.  Thankfully.  ;)

Oh, that wasn't really clear in the article.  I was kind of confused,  even after looking at the IMDB info.

And speaking of the New York Times, there was a great article/interview with Sam Buntrock, the director of the soon-to-open revival of Sunday In the Park with George. First of all, I had no idea he was so young - 32 years old!  Secondly, the following excerpt really hit home with/to me:

Quote
The turning point came in 2003 after a cancer scare (“I’m fine now”) and a bout with alcoholism. (He’s been sober five years.) “It was a very, very bad year,” he said. But by the end he had emerged with the crucial idea to mix his interests in animation and theater in a production of one of the few great Sondheim shows that hadn’t been given a Broadway revival. Inspiration hit after revisiting the score of “Sunday in the Park,” a musical about, among other things, an artist’s anxiety about wasting his talent.

“If you’ve been through a bad year, and you hear that score, it hurts, but in a good way,” Mr. Buntrock said. “It makes you feel that what you’ve been feeling is connected to something.”

Who’s That Kid Staging Sondheim?

...And today's The City also contained some wonderful articles about various neighborhoods, topics and local celebrities.  -Where else could one read about Hedda Lettuce, laundromats, bath houses, and the gentrification of Harlem all in one place? ;)

JRand, glad you found a great home for the kitty. After losing a 20 year old cat a few years ago, I was afraid to adopt another because I thought I couldn't care for another cat. Having a kitty that needs them will help them through their heartbreak. Happy ending all around!

I think when cats are declawed, they only do the front feet. That way, they can still climb a tree if necessary. I've never had any of mine declawed, just in case they might escape from the house and have to defend themselves.

After a nice visit with the gardening show producer, who brought a pile of lenten roses and fresh-baked chocolate ship cookies, we were relaxing (Greg cleaned the gutters while I "entertained") and lo and behold, friends appeared to take us out for a belated birthday dinner...my godson, his sister, and parents. His mom had been to the house but the rest of them had not seen it.

We had nice Indian food, which they all love, and then came back so they could play with the kitties. I was so glad I was able to offer them milk and homemade cookies!

When we bundled the kids into the car, our godson said "Can we come back---real soon?"

Awwwwww....it was so much fun. And yet we also realize at time like this how unkidproof our house is and that the cats had never seen children before. I would try to teach Sydney how to talk softly and pet the cats softly but she would get so excited about them that her voice would rise to a supersonic squeal!

After they left, we took a long walk around the neighborhood with a coffee stop, and now the cats are enjoying their peaceful adults again!
