That left me with time to watch a short film. I thought about one of the TAMMY movies, but in the end Charlie Chan won out and I popped in CHARLIE CHAN IN HONOLULU. I had never seen this before, and I am pleased to say I did guess the correct murderer.

Apart from a few light scratches, the transfer looks great.

As for tonight's "Brothers & Sisters"... Loved the casting choices for the non-regulars. :)

There were two featurettes on the CHARLIE CHAN disc (sadly, neither starring Dr. Drew Casper). One involved information on Fox's handling the Chan series after the death of Warner Oland.

The other was about the career of Sidney Toler which I found very illuminating. Miles Kreuger is one of the talking heads in that one, and it's filled with useful information I certainly didn't know about Toler.

Boo has a new habit. She drags her "cat dancer" the wire with cardboard things on the ends around the house.  She brings it to whatever room I'm in to play with her.

I had a few minutes left so I put on THE PIRATE and watched Judy's "Mack the Black" number in stereo. She does such a great job with it.

COLD CASE was a fair episode tonight. Again, I guessed the killer, but I had the wrong motive. That was a total surprise.

Yes, I liked the casting on BROTHERS & SISTERS, too. I was hoping Saul and the character played by Erico Canantoni would be attracted to one another (maybe when the show comes back; why introduce him otherwise?) Scottie's friends were a hoot, and I loved Sarah's karaoke.

Tomorrow I start on that mammoth THE LAST EMPEROR set. It will take me at least three days with it and maybe four depending on how lengthy the contents are in those two discs of extras. It will take 8 1/2 hours to watch all the versions of the film with and without commentary.

Boo seems to be feeling better tonight. I brushed her and that should help a little. She's had a good day today, so I may give it another day before I take her to the vet. If she can keep her food down again tomorrow, I think we'll be back on track.

OH!.... And I also loved this article about some of Oscar night's more memorable moments...

There Will Be Memories

The "Surprises vs. Sentimental Favorites" listing was particularly entertaining and informative.

Just made the DP a WW shake, which consists of n/f milk, ice cubes, vanilla extract, and two packets of splenda. A quick whirl of the immersion blender and BINGO, and very LOW calorie treat.  I may make one with frozen strawberries a bit later.

Good night!

I have finished watching the 30th anniversary edition of The Wiz - I'd only seen a couple of scenes before, and now I can say I have truly seen one of the ten worst films of all time.  Much more later in the notes.

So who looked best at the Hollywood Collector's show....

Deanna Lund, hands down winner! She has not aged one iota since her days in the Land of the Giants.

Roberta Shore was a close second. Just beautiful, although with different colored hair now.

And yes I am back home with dog and cat by my side!

Caught up on the first two episodes of Big Brother 9. This Big Brother is a bit different then in the past, but still interesting.

It usually takes time for me to warm up to the contestants and once we get to know them all better they may have more personality...perhaps! LOL!

I do prefer it when they have a larger variety of ages and races, as in past seasons.

I sold two of the Partridge Family shots over and over - one with David Cassidy and one with Susan Dey.  Those were the most popular.  I sold several Brain CDs and several Nudie DVDs and several of the books.

I just watched "The Devil Wears Prada."  I'd never seen it before and it was good.  This and "Ugly Betty" (and to a lesser extent, "Less Than Perfect") are very similar.  Big news, right? ;)
