Wasn't Prithee a character in Gone With the Wind?

So... My parents made it into New York City safe and sound this morning.  By the time I had called them, they were about to walk into the morning Mass at the church down on 42nd Street, and then by the time I made it down to 42nd Street, I was able to meet them at the now-traditional meeting place: Burger King.

When I walked through the door, they had just finished their breakfast, and were about to leave, so... Good timing.  I talked them through their itinerary for the day, and then walked them over to Times Square.  -Pointing out where the Al Hirschfeld Theatre is along the way.  Once we reached the base of Times Square, I went this-a-way way, and they went that-a-way.

A trend!  ;D

Very good news, DR EDISAURUS.  The only news we got was that the sales tax went up one penny on each dollar for a grand total of seven!

Interesting Reidel column, DR JOSE.

My guess is he didn't like GREASE.  Or the horse it rode in on.

Good morning!

Nice day today. It's partly cloudy, but the rain shouldn't move in until tomorrow. I'll be doing the first mowing job of the year later today.

If nothing comes in the mail today in terms of review copies, I'll be tackling SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, one of the leftovers I inherited from my Paramount reviewer predecessor. I haven't seen the movie in at least a decade, so just like DIRTY HARRY last night, I'm sure I've forgotten quite a lot about it.

This disc was released in September last year in a new transfer, so I'm hoping it will look decent. I don't remember ever liking the way the movie looked on TV in previous incarnations.

Wednesday morning greetings!  Today is the first of 3 workdays when I have no meetings, no programs, no appointments scheduled.  Maybe I can get some work done!

DR Elmore - Your friend's name caught my eye when I was reading the same alumni magazine (I used to know someone with the same last name).  Thank you for sharing the story about him last night.

I shpuld have added the story of Aue's screwed-up relationship in college with someone who's now a prominent theatre manager in the City, but since I may be involved in a project with his management company, I'll not mention it.  This is for the memoirs.

Does the lady in red always get the hunk?

She doesn't. Grandma does in THE SANDBOX.  I want to see this production.  I played Daddy in both of them when I was acting.  For some reason, I was always cast in theatre of the absurd. My specialties were Albee, Pinter, and Ionesco.

Oh and SHOWCASE in canada (the channel that airs DAMAGES) is re-running the first 11 episodes of LIFE (the NBC show that some like DR RonP loved).

I never saw it. So i am going to record the first episode tonight.

The paper here said that NBC is announcing their Fall line-up today. So we will know if the show get picked up or not.

Good morning, everyone.

I see that DR Sing is in good form today.

I'm pleased that DR Edisaurus has some good news. It does seem few and far between at times. And I share her views about development.

TOD:

I like THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY and PANERA, though the service at the PANERA near me is quite uneven. They have a new manager, which definitely helps. They get extremely busy--a GOOD problem--and just can't handle it. Unfortunately, customers get unhappy.
