I got one of the references...I've been reading up on Rosalind Franklin because for now it looks like Bryan will be going to the medical school named for her.

Chicago's loss is New York's gain gain is our loss!

DR DANISE.....have you seen those doggies steps they have that help doggies climb onto beds?

You could probably even use a box or storage chest.

Yes, I know about the steps but I've never any strong enough for a 115 pound dog.    I may have to look into the box but it would have to be a very stong wooden one.

There is still the issue of him falling off the bed.  From personal experience I can tell you it is very scary when a big dog falls off the bed in the middle of the night.

We finally found steps for Sherlock.  I climbed down them the other night while Keith was yelling at me that I'm too big to do that ;D  It really didn't have to do with my weight, just that I was causing the edge of the steps to slip away from the edge of the bed.

Yup, mine too.  If not NY, Philadelphia would be a good location, close to NY & not too far from Craig in DC.

We think Craig is still going to DC.  The official paperwork has not arrived yet.

Thank you DR’s Cilla & Dakota.

As you know it isn’t easy giving up a beloved pet and was only done for her sake, not Bryan’s.  The three other Sugar Gliders took right to her and were very friendly.  She didn’t seem to know what to do, especially about the two young ones climbing all over her.

A nice couple, without children, took her. Bryan was very impressed with this couples knowledge regarding diet, etc.  When he arrived at their house he found a very large, very high, intricate cage system-multiple cages welded together.  Now they have one more to add to the collection, along with her traveling cage.  He left her bed & everything else of hers with them.

He should be getting a report and photos later today.  Fingers crossed.

I have sometimes wondered what I'd look like today if I had the hair I had when I was in my twenties.  There was a wig backstage, so I put it on.  I did not like what I saw and am therefore happy I look like what I look like.

That's great.

Years ago I put on a very light blond wig.  I did not look good at all. ;D

I went over to ebay to look at some dog steps as a just in case.  I was very suprised to find several that were for dogs over a hundred pounds.

Like Jane said, there still is the worry about him falling off the bed.

I'm sorry to hear that Bryan had to give up one of his pets.  I also hope that all goes well.

I gave up on dying my hair.  It was always over done and sometimes (like that time in NY) didn't turn out the color I wanted it to.

I figure if someone has a problem with the grey in my hair, well, that's their problem.

We have a gal at work who has a different wig for every day.  One day she's curly the next it's straight and it's never the same color either.

Thank you Danise.  The boy glider never gave her as much attention as these new ones are, hopefully she will adjust within a few days.  The good news is that they accepted her so quickly.   She does have her own bed for quiet time.

I have always thought that would be fun to do, maybe not everyday but on a regular basis.  I have a cake decorating book & the author talked about some of her more interesting & fun professional cakes she baked.  One was for a surprise birthday party for the wife.  He wanted a picture of his wife on the cake.  When it came to her hair he hadn't a clue which style or color to use.  They ended up giving her a multi colored look.  This was long before it was in style. ;D

Boheme from the MET yesterday was delightful, and then last night's voice recital included Barber's "Knoxville," so I was very happy.

Our Winter From Hell continues into spring with Betsy and the boys all having flu, and me with a new sore throat and ear canal pain.  Oy.

I spent most of yesterday dealing with a brouhaha at the review site, where one of the more self-important reviewers decided that two of my reviews (out of probably 200 at this point) didn't meet his criteria, despite the fact that not one reader, nor any of the editors who approve the reviews, had complained.  He really went ballistic when I had the audacity to answer his complaints in the public reviewers' forum where he had posted them, and also for challenging an out and out factual error he had posted (not to mention his spelling errors, but that was just for fun on my part  ;D).

This guy, who writes the most bloated, ridiculously lengthy reviews I have ever read, and who prides himself on being part of some society of critics that only allows membership based on number of words per review, deserves to be taken down a peg or two, so I am thinking of developing a website entitled:  (Insert Critic's Name Here)IsTheMostBloatedGasbagofallTime.com.  I think that has a certain ring to it, don't y'all?

On a slightly related topic--has anyone else gotten around to "Hit the Deck" in the new MGM set?  The soundtrack is awful, IMHO--something is definitely wrong.  I need to do some research on this.

I always cry at the musical phrase "one is my mother who is good to me" because it's so heartbreakingly beautiful. What a great composition!

Wow--talk about a misheard lyric.  I always thought it was "one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do."
