THE CATCHER IN THE WRY
« on: April 12, 2008, 12:05:00 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were wry and catching, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're catching some wry right now.

No, we will never get to Page 2.

I agree -  we should NOT progress to page two until the notes are fixed! We have Part ONE repeated twice, and no Part TWO. Absent Part TWo we have no topic for the day, and that leaves us all speechless!

Even tho DR Pulliam accused me of nodding, I did manage to catch this epic moment:

DR JoseSPiano - thanks for the links re: The Last Lecture.  I missed the broadcast, but now I can watch.  And both Amazon and local Borders stores were temporarily sold out of the book version.  That should make a nice nest egg for his family!

BELATED BIRTHDAY WISHES for DR Cillaliz's Mom.

And yes, I've been to the Fairmont Opera House many times!  In fact, my DH's parents, Fairmont residents, were some of the original movers & shakers who spearheaded the buying and restoring of the building.

Does this mean I can choose a Topic of the Day?

If so, here it is:

What are your favorite two words that are totally different, yet somehow indisputably similar?

HOSPITAL / HOSPITABLE

Different? Hospital/hospitable/hospitality - all come from the same latin root.

Yesterday, I received a DVR/DVD burner that I got through eBay.  Last night, I recorded "Battlestar Galactica" on my Comcast DVR, and then I watched it as I recorded it to my new (to me) DVR/DVD burner.  It has a 100 GB hard drive, so I was able to cut out the commercials and make a DVD!  It all worked! :D It is a bit cumbersome to go through all the steps and menus, but as long as it works, I'm not too concerned.

DR MATT

I see that Lawrence of Arabia is being re-release on Tuesday. (I think it is this coming Tuesday) Will that be on Blu Ray and/or SDVD?

Although not a favorite of mine Bridge on the River Kwai is also being released.

It is a work day today, Saturday.  And there is no sunshine today.  In fact there might be some snow flurries tomorrow.
