I drove to the gasoline station to get my newspaper.  Some drizzle and cooler temperatures, but not as cold as predicted.

As I paid for my newspaper, the clerk said, "I have to ask you something, I just have to ask."

So I said, "Okay."

She said:  "What do you have to do to get to be Mayor of Gasburg?"

I said:  "I don't know."

She said:  "Oh, that's not you?"

I said: "No......."

She said: "It must be another PT Cruiser that has that license plate on the front."

I said:  "Must be.  But my guess is that it's an appointed rather than elected position."

I enjoyed Torchwood very much....all of the backstories.  There are still some mysteries about everyone, but the slight changes to their appearances to reflect the previous years/months were very clever.

Sometimes when Owen - Burn Gorman - is photographed from certain angles, he is kind of scary looking.

Well, since I bought it, I might as well read it - the newspaper, that is.

And the word of the day is: ABULIA!
American Idol judge Paula ABULIA has long covered her inability to say anything constructive about the contestants by simply aping what fellow judge Randy Jackson has said, and then saying something nice about what the contestant is wearing.

About a week ago, I conned one of my fellow cashiers, Brenda, into renting Sweeney Todd.  She loved it, but admits to watching all the slashings through her fingers.

Today, I'll be loaning ST to another co-worker, Jaquie.  It'll be interesting to see if she has a similar reaction.

My pursuit of Stargate SG-1, in episode order, has run into a brick wall.  It seems that our copy of Season Two, Disc Two has a crack in it.  Not a terrible crack, but just enough of a crack to keep it from loading on the DVD player in der Brucer's room.

 :'(

I suppose I'll just have to read the synopsi of the five episodes on-line - there's plenty of sites that have 'em - but it just won't be the same as watching Richard Dean Anderson wincing every time Michael Shanks and Amanda Tapping spout a bunch of technobabble.  Lordy, Richard Dean Anderson is cuter here than he was in MacGyver.

I'm up and about to shower.  Looks like a pretty day, but I can't tell if it's hot as it's always quite cold in the morning inside the home environment.  Didn't sleep all that well due to thoughts on band.

Beautiful day though we've gotten cooler than all last week. We'll be lucky to hit 60 today and will only be in the 50s tomorrow.

Having back trouble is something I absolutely dread. Not only is it uncomfortable to get around to do one's normal daily routine, but when my back is out, I find it nearly impossible to sleep or to sleep for very long since once you move even a little, the spasms of pain wake you right up.

I hope your problems will resolve themselves quickly.

Yes, DR JMK, I remembered you mentioned something earlier about the sound for HIT THE DECK, so I'll pay close attention to it when I watch this afternoon.

There was a nice profile of ELI STONE's Jonny Lee Miller in this morning's Parade Magazine. I had NO idea he was Angelina Jolie's first husband. They must have been together when she won her Oscar, but all I can remember is Angelina's bringing her brother to the event.

Anyway, here's the adorable Jonny Lee.

There's some good stuff in today's New York Times.  The article on Greek yogurt in the Magazine was particularly rich and tart.  ;)

Oh!  And the two-page ad spread for South Pacific!  -I guess they had to raise their ticket prices after the extension was announced to pay for that!

One of the national tours of WICKED is in Charlotte for the next couple of weeks. I have some friends who are going tonight. Having seen the Broadway incarnation, I won't be going to this one.

I couldn't if I wanted to. It sold out minutes after announcing ticket availability after season subscribers were allowed to order additional tickets.
