Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I have no real idea why I'm up so (relatively) early.  Of course, since I zonked out a little before midnight last night, that could have something to do with it.

bk - If you read my whole post where I listed the top 25 (out 75) restaurants (according to Los Angeles magazine), you would have noticed that I listed Lawry's, The Ivy and Crustacean as a sort of appendix at the end of my post.  Just sayin'.

:)

I just received this "snippet" from a friend which was good for a very hearty morning laugh (imho).  ;)

Quote
A very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into Wal-Mart with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.  The Wal-Mart Greeter said pleasantly, "Good morning, and welcome to Wal-Mart.  Nice children you have there. Are they twins?"  The woman stopped yelling long enough to say, "Hell no they ain't"  The oldest one's 9 and the other one's 7.  Why the hell would you think they're twins?  Are you blind, or just stupid?" "I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am," replied the greeter.  "I just couldn't believe someone would sleep with you twice.  Have  a good day and thank  you for shopping at Wal-Mart."

Good Morning!

(and the final chapter of "Marley & Me")

You are awfully brave, DR Tomovoz, to read that so soon after the loss of your own dog.    :'(

Does anyone know of an old film with characters named Mr. Pipp and Miss Frobisher?

The DH saw part of a film in his hotel room in Milwaukee, but doesn't know what the film was or what station it was on.  I tried a little preliminary web searching with no luck.

Greetings all.

We are without phone at the home environment. It started as a partial phone outage. We could make calls but not receive calls. We called Verizon and someone came over fairly quickly (for a beautiful Saturday afternoon). They spent time in the back area and "fixed" the phone by patching us into another "port" whatever that means. They told us the box in the back is old probably won't last but another couple of years. When I asked if we should call to have it replaced he said "it's Verizon's problem and they probably won't deal with it until it's absolutely necessary and that means digging a hole in the street to replace necessary components". He then told us that there is no dial tone on the phone but it should come back any time between 10 minutes and two hours. There is a backlog on Saturday work orders so don't worry, it will work eventually This was at about 1:30pm). Well, the back order never got through because by 7pm the phone was still not working. We called the 24 repair line and the person told us that due to the lateness of the hour and the fact that tomorrow was Sunday we wouldn't have a phone until Monday. All the workers from the Saturday shift had left the building and no one works on Sunday. We are supposed to have a working phone by noon today. I'll believe it when I hear it! I'm glad we don't have any emergencies.
