Good Evening!

For a Monday, it wasn't a bad day.

I did indeed end up at MoMA earlier this afternoon, and ended up having quite a good visit. I checked out two new exhibitions.

Color Chart: Reinventing Color, 1950 to Today
Who knew that so much Art could be inspired by - and in some cases, made up of - paint chips/samples? And I really mean that. It was quite a fascinating exhibition, and it actually made me start to fully appreciate some of those "color block" paintings.

Design and the Elastic Mind
This exhibit made my head hurt, but in a good way. It's part Art Exhibition, part high-end Science Fair Project, and part Mind Bender. There's even an installation of Electric "weeds" which is just a little too hard for me to explain, so I won't.

There was also a display of some computer-designed origami figures which just blew my mind, and made my fingers hurt just looking at the folding diagrams.

Obviously the Masters ran late yesterday, and so COLD CASE was late starting. Knowing I wasn't going to get the entire episode, I deleted it without watching.

Instead, I watched the last film in the MR. WONG box set since it was only an hour long: PHANTOM OF CHINATOWN.

In this one, Keye Luke replaced Boris Karloff as Mr. Wong though it was really a restart for the series since Detective Street (Grant Withers) didn't even know who Wong was. I guessed the identity of the murderer once again making me 4 for 6 in this series.

After a trip back uptown to the apartment to drop off my stuff, I headed back down to Times Square to meet up with Jason to catch "Smart People". -What a good movie! Great cast: Dennis Quaid, Sara Jessica Parker, Thomas Haden Church, Ellen Page. And a great little story about some not so little subjects. Yes, it's a Smart movie.

BONES had a very entertaining and funny outing tonight. Some good looking motorcycle racers were also part of the package, too, though I didn't get the correct murderer.

Enjoyed the last NEW AMSTERDAM very much. John's past as a grifter was very interesting, and, of course, I liked the final scene very much.

MEDIUM brought back a character from a previous season and did a very nice episode with him.

I was too smart to listen to the ghost of the dead agent. I did what I've fussed about other characters not doing: I believed in Allison's visions despite what others say. So, I figured out what he was up to pretty easily.

I understand Kelly Preston is going to be in several upcoming episodes as Joe's partner. I smell trouble there.

Tomorrow I'll be getting around to THE TUDORS and JOHN ADAMS from Sunday. I also recorded SAMANTHA WHO? from tonight because I thought I recognized Timothy Olyphant in the previews, and I wanted to see him in a comedy series. (Loved him in DEADWOOD and THE BROKEN HEARTS CLUB.)

I've also chosen what the next review disc set will be - THE BIG GAY SKETCH SHOW - Season 1. I'll be starting on it tomorrow. It's two discs so I'm not sure how long it will take for me to watch everything. There are a fair number of bonus features.

DR Ginny - Well, I don't mind the Upper East Side.

There are some great places to eat, and if you're at 89th, you're just three blocks from the 86th Street subway station where you can grab the 4, 5 and 6. -The 5 is the express. Just take the train to Grand Central then take the L to Times Square - or just walk over the three long blocks. And as for the subways always being crowded, well.... Have you been on the 1 train lately?

You're also a few blocks from Central Park (right at the top of the Reservoir, in fact) and Museum Mile.

OH! And if you want to visit DR elmore, you can just walk up to 96th Street to take the crosstown bus to the West Side
