TCM showed A FOOL THERE WAS several years ago, and I video taped it - remember those?  It was an interesting relic.  Ms Bara was a bad bad bad girl whose entire reason for living was destroying the lives of foolish married men....and so she did.

She was NOT thin, and she BIG eyes ringed with kohl....and her type went out of fashion fairly quickly....BUT she was big while she had it.  Yes, I think her CLEOPATRA has turned to dust, but there are fragments of her here and there.

Theda....nee Theodosia Goodman from Ohio....lived until 1959 and was quite the good sport about her former career as the screen's Vamp and ManKiller, they say.

I just got asked to do some Fourth of July charts for policeman/tenor Daniel Rodriguez! This may be the work I'll take to Ohio when I ever book a flight.

Well, I don't start until 10:00 today, but I have to run an errand or two this morning, so I might as well get a head start on those so I'm not rushing later.  I'll have internet access today - :) - so that should keep me sane and otherwise occupied when I'm not playing.

DR GINNY is going to Zanesville - those librarians get to go EVERYWHERE!

LOL!

And when I leave there Saturday afternoon, I get to go to Celina and then to Payne, OH.

Eat your heart out, DR JRand!

An investment group that owns 138 sage-covered acres above and to the left of the 45-foot-high, steel-and-concrete H put the land up for sale last month for $22 million.

Some Los Angeles residents are afraid mansions will be built there, spoiling the sign's uncluttered, postcard-perfect backdrop. They worry, too, that the land will no longer be accessible to the hikers, sightseers and romantics who often climb the hill for solitude and a panoramic view of the Los Angeles basin.

Residents led by a city councilman are fighting to preserve the parcel, known as Cahuenga Peak.

DR ArnoldMBrockman - There are only two songs on the new 2 CD William Finn set that are new to me.  Nevertheless, if you are a Finn fan, I do recommend it.  Nice performances, some new vocal arrangements.  It's just four singers and a piano, recorded live Off-Broadway.

Messages program planners like to get the day before the conference starts:

"Exactly how much time do I have for my speech?"

"How many handouts should I duplicate for my sesson on Saturday?"

"Registration numbers:  Friday=55, Saturday=101."

This evening we will be taking part in a camp fest when Valley of the Dolls will be screened at Chelsea Cinemas (Where Dreams Do Come True). Hedda Lettuce will provide the pre-show entertainment and we will laugh and cry our way through this epic in modern cinema!

Message a program planner doesn't like to get the day before the conference:

"Will there be a laptop and projector already set up for my PowerPoint?"

All speakers were asked 4 weeks ago to convey their AV needs to the local arrangements goddess and, if possible, to provide their own laptop/LCD projector, if needed.

Good morning!

Going to be another beautiful day here with highs in the mid 70s. Looking forward to being out in the fresh air and sunshine later.

Today is going to be a *ME* day in terms of viewing. I will put the review copies aside today and watch whatever I want. I have JOHN ADAMS from Sunday that I definitely want to get to. This evening, before the beginning of prime time TV, I'd like to revisit LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD.

The rest of the day may be given over to PSYCH episodes from the first season DVD set. We'll see.
