Good Evening!

I'm back from venturing through the West Village for a few hours with my friend, Michael.  With the weather taking a turn for the better this afternoon, it seemed that everyone was out and about, and eating brunch outside wherever there was a free table.

We opted to eat inside at The Pink Tea Cup.  I had the catfish and Michael had the fried chicken.  YUM!

I will use the old telly in the puter room until it dies.... I do think I will need to get a set of ears for it.... THe antennas that came with the telly are pretty useless.

I looked at teh 22 in and debated if I was going to be able to see the CC from the couch and opted to get the 26 inch. I am glad I did.

One really nice thing about the warmer weather this afternoon: t-shirts and shorts.  -Well, I guess that's actually two nice things. ;)

However, I do have to say that there is a tremendous amount of "stuff" in the air.  There were a few times when it felt like I was inhaling sand, and I could even see the pollen accumulating on my eyeglasses.

While walking around, we also stopped into Sweet Heart Coffee on 8th Ave., right at the top of the West Village.  It's basically a hole-in-the-wall place, but they feature a good assortment of Argentinian empanadas (the goat cheese and pumpkin is a favorite), as well as an assortment of baked goods and other treats.  The portions are huge, and the prices are extremely reasonable: you can get two empanadas and a freshly brewed cup of coffee for $5.00.  -Or a "Drop Dead Delicious" Cookie (chocolate chips, chocolate chunks, peanut butter chips and crumble Oreos in a 6-inch cookie!), a generously filled alfajor, and a frosted short bread cookie all for just $4.00.  ;)

New telly is almost all set up...

Will I be able to tape on a vcr from a digital channel??

That shouldn't be any problem, Dakota.  The only problem might be is if the new TV has a much larger screen size than your original, the picture quality of the tape (after you record it) probably won't look as good because it's stretched out more than before.

but they feature a good assortment of Argentinian empanadas (the goat cheese and pumpkin is a favorite),

If that is the creamy (like French) goat's cheese and not the tangy (like Greek) it sounds yummy. :)

I have noted that the local CW channel is available on digital. I have never seen anything on that channel. I also now get FOX!

Hmmm, my telly viewing has improved slightly... I now have four PBS feeds...

I've been at the office all day today organizing and making lists of everything I have to do on my current cases.  I need to be very organized because on Friday eve I was retained to represent a young man on a First Degree Murder charge.  SO that means lots and lots and lots of work ahead.  I'm looking forward to it.

One of my guests today at Borders offered me his websites to peruse, as we were discussing hummingbirds the other day here on HHW, I thought this might just be a propos:
http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/phaedrus64/Hummingbirds.html

On his kayaking page, Rob has many links to hummingbird sites, as well as to his own:
http://www.geocities.com/robprotz/
Scroll down quite a bit.

Personally, I really like his links to West Virginia's New River Gorge. . . .
