Been watching a motion picture on DVD.  Had In and Out for lunch.  And just found out that the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian is showing a brand new 70mm print of Khartoum, which was shot in Ultra Panavision 70 (like Ben-Hur and Mutiny On The Bounty.  Even though their screen isn't really big enough, it's too tempting not to go, especially since I've never seen Khartoum.

Will you be going to see it tonight?  On your way home, be careful of the traffic coming from THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X.

And I would say that as someone who followed all the rules, it is very unfair for the tv show project to get special treatment in scheduling inspectors.

It is a wonderful movie TCB! And one of DR Elmore's favorites as well...it stars Edna Mae Oliver and James Gleasonl...Mae Clarke and Robert Armstrong are also in it.

This Robert Armstrong?

I keep forgetting to go to our Tuesday Grower's market.  I tend to do that. ;D
I am more and more a fan of farmer's markets and the like.  The produce is local, seasonal, fresher.  They put us in a better connection with the food we eat, and that's a good thing.

(Cilla, you need to take the time for yourself and cook a good meal from some fresh food.  Your body and mind will thank you for it.)

It was our experience that it can take a week to get an inspector out to look at one thing.

I really wonder what sort of breaks they are getting....

I don't think they are exactly getting breaks.  They are building houses for charity and on a deadline.  I doubt they have much trouble getting a willing inspector to go out there on a daily basis for a national television show.

It is also likely they are paying extra fees for the speedy inspections.

But concrete takes time to cure, doesn't it? You can't just pour it and then begin building on it.

I should know about concrete. After all,  I sat through an entire hour of fascinating testimony about concrete one afternoon.

Depends on the mixture used. There is some quick drying cement but still takes a bit of time to cure.

Thanks Woody. I actually had a good meal last night, a big breakfast yesterday morning and had an ok dinner tonight. And I've been drinking my milk and my V8 and eating fruit.  Things will still be busy, but will balance out soon.  With my insane April immediately followed by the trip to New York and then a bunch of new cases all at once I was swamped and needed to power through and catch up.  I'm not quite there, so I'm not taking any new consultations for a couple weeks. It will all work out

Why would I remember this department:  When Khartoum was first scheduled for NBC Saturday Night at The Movies they ran a theatrical teaser with a pull quote that said "Charlton Heston is looking down the throat of another Oscar."  I remember thinking--Oscars have throats?

Some sad news--I just read over on the A&M Board that legendary recording engineer Larry Levine died a few days ago.  BK's close personal friend Cissy Wechter posted a nice tribute on the guestbook.

A local firm from Fargo was involved in tonight's episode of the show and they made a few interesting comments...

DR MattH i totally disagree about what constitutes a spoiler.  If it will spoil an unaired show then it is a spoiler.  All the soap stories are spoiled in Soap opera digest. Does that not make them spoilers?

Teri hatcher was asked point blank a question. I don't think she was supposed to say. But she did not want to lie.

If i had not seen that show, i don't think i would have wanted to know the info. Hence it would have been a spoiler for me. I just wanted to give others here the courtesy.  I don't see why people who don't want to know should have to know.
