Are Wal-marts generally open on Sunday?

But do you have an answer? Without an answer, you will have an incomplete tome.

An Incomplete Tome - that's the title of my first novel.

Heading down now to get laundry sorted for washing today. Then I'll start thinking about what's for lunch.

I have never been to a Wal-Mart.  Before yesterday, I had never been to a Costco.  I have been to a Target once.

For some reason, I thought The Last Starfighter director was different for this incarnation, but if memory serves, David was the name of the director of the reading in NY, when I did it.

And I know they cut Otis's (my) nice ballad for the reading.

As for myself... I don't believe I shall be doing any cleaning around my apartment-stead today.  I know I probably should take care of some putting away of things and organizing, but... It's a holiday weekend, so.... ;)

My parents belong to Costco, which comes in handy whenever they need to stock for a weekend visit from the kids and grandkids.  And when my Dad was still cooking in the Secretary's Mess (for the DOT and HHS), he would usually shop at Costco since they would sometimes have better prices and deals then they base Commissary.

When I lived in Richmond, I was piggy-backed on to Steve's Sam's Club membership - which is the warehouse store for Wal-Mart.  It always came in handy for socks and underwear and electronics.  And nuts and chocolate for baking, as well as some pretty decent wine selections.

In any case...

I'm supposed to meet a friend down in Tribeca for a late brunch, so I should get ready to head out.  Then another friend from Richmond is in town today to catch a matinee, and, hopefully, we'll be able to meet up afterwards for dinner.  Food and Friends - a nice way to spend a Sunday.  :)

Laters...

I'm having trouble remembering whether WalMart even closes on Christmas.

BK - re your CostCo adventure

Remember, it wasn't just a Saturday (which is prime shopping time for many families), it was also the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.  The stores have all been packed with shoppers, and will be all three days (four if you count Friday).

At SuperGiant, we've had all fourteen registers running full tilt.  I had one crew of four shoppers at my register yesterday with four shopping carts filled to overflowing, all one order.  And this was their second trip!  (Of course, they were shopping for a vacationing group of thirty, all down from NYC and upstate, but that's a lot of shoppng!)

It's a good thing I enjoy my work, or this could get overwhelming.

Anyway, since you're not tied to "normal" working hours, and thus not tied to shopping on weekends, you'll probably enjoy the Costco experience more during the weekdays from now on.  Smile and say a friendly "Hello" to the staff there when you drop by - trust me, they'll appreciate the friendly face.

DR SWW - thanks for the warning about how crowded the stores are this weekend.  I'm on my way to Kroger and consider myself suitable prepared.

We shop a few times a year at Sam's Club (but I'm thinking about changing to Costco).  I like to buy things like laundry supplies, bath soap, and paper goods in the quantity you can get there so we don't run out often.  DR Jose - I also like the pecan halves and Ghirardelli chocolate chips for cooking!
