A SUNDAY KIND OF NOTES
« on: May 25, 2008, 12:17:32 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a Sunday vibe, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - Sunday is their day of rest and they simply won't consider coming home.

Yesterday, I went to see a reading of FJL and Skip Kennon's musical, The Last Starfighter in Issaquah, Washington.  TCB was supposed to come with me, but he wasn't able. :(

But let me say that it was great!  The cast was very good.  I don't remember very much about the original reading that was done there two years ago, so I can't really compare.  But I thoroughly enjoyed this. :D

And DR Julie was there!  I don't think she was just visiting.  I got the impression that she was actually involved in the production, but I forgot to ask. :-\

Julie's a very nice person and we chatted for a few minutes after the show.  After that, Julie, Skip, Fred, the director David, the stage manager Sarah and I all went to a local Mexican restaurant and shared a couple of plates of nachos.  They were not too bad and the conversation was mostly about the show, so I just tried to listen (the music was quite loud).  We said our goodbyes and I drove home. :)

It has been raining here a lot as the start of the hurricane season is about a week away. The rain was needed. We were hitting record highs. It was hitting as high as 101 degrees!

I love Costco. I always go on Saturdays. Sometimes it is busy. But usually it's okay.

I will say this though. Not everything is cheaper there. For instance i find fruit and meat to be more expensive.

They sometimes have great scrapbooking stuff there though!

And here they sell a jumbo hotdog (in bun) and big drink) for $1.99. It is my niece's favorite restaurant!

I don't think there is anything on tv for me tonight.

My niece called at 7:30am to ask me if i wanted to go to the park with her.  We're going to have a picnic.

She is too little to go up on the contraptions for sliding herself (there is a crazy bridge). But i can climb up with her. ANd most of the slides have 2 slides side by side. And she thinks it is funny if we slide at the same time side by side. Luckily my butt can fit on them (last time i find my butt was too big for the swings and was horrified!).

I also want to go to Harveys. It is free hamburger day. I am gonna go at 10:30am cause i don't want it to be a zoo!

I had watched MARRIAGE ON THE ROCKS earlier this week, and I agree with bk's assessment.
Last night I showed the dvd to Mum, who enjoyed it tremendously.
Of course, both Mum and I laughed at several gags which I will assume bk didn't laugh at: since Mum's maiden name was McPherson, and we have Jean McPherson in our family, we found the McPherson bits to be droll on a personal level.

Good morning, all! Yesterday was a lovely and quiet day: I stayed at Randy's and worked on the vocal book for The Brain. I did see during the day three of Jo and Randy's children: my niece Allison is in town to help her brother Cory get his new house ready for the move into it, my wonderful nephew Matt came by to help Randy with an errand, and then my niece-by-marriage Corby came by to pick up my great-nephew Jayden whom Jo was babysitting.

It was a lazy afternoon, and I napped from 4-5, worked sopme more on The Brain and went to bed around 10 pm.

Today, my cousin Sue Ellen and I go out to visit my mother's only living sibling Bob, and I'll probably go directly from there to dinner at the home of DR Ginny and DH Richard. This morning, I'll continue the Brain surgery.

DR TCB, I am so sorry you missed the reading last night, but it sounds as if DR George had a good time.

BK, your stories of problems in the home environment only increase my desire to never be a landlord.

It is DAY TWO of project House Outdoor Re-Do.

Finishing the painting and doing the landscaping, and hopefully hauling off the excess trash and trees and bushes that have been discarded.  Whew.....but it does look nice.  I will take some pictures when the project is finished.

By the middle of summer all of our new flowers and plants should look very nice.

Of course we nothing but mules in horse harness, but we do think we look nice.

DR MBARNUM, I hope you know that Madge Blake and her husband both had top secret military clearance and worked on the Manhattan Project during WWII - the big one.

Sunday morning greetings!  I've been excused from church to get ready for our dinner and overnight company.  DR Elmore will be here for dinner and DS Rob and his girlfriend will be here for dinner, overnight, and tomorrow's cookout at our niece's.  Of course, DR Elmore is welcome to stay overnight, too, but (thankfully for him) that seems not to be necessary on his family front.

It is another gloriously beautiful day here in SW Ohio.

Good morning!

Another cool morning but it's not likely to remain so. Today and tomorrow are going to be warm - mid 80s. Ugh!

I did get out and mowed my back yard this morning before it got too warm. Glad to have that over with for awhile.

The rain has cleared out, the skies are blue, and it looks like it will be a lovely day here. I just hope it doesn't get super hot again quite yet.

Today I'll likely spend most of my time with THE RECRUIT on Blu-ray.

However, I will watch the remainder of THE FUGITIVE episode I started last night and probably do another one while I cook and eat lunch.
