"Good Morning Coleslaw" does have the "Glippy-Glop Gloopy" section.  Does that count as an intervening G.G.?

:)

I always thought that it was "Glidd[/i]y-Glop Gloopy..."

And unlike a certain Jose, you spelled the surname correctly.

der Brucer

Umm... I spelled the surname correctly.  "Rare Silk" was comprised of Todd Buffa, Marguerite Jeunemann (later replaced by Barbara Reeves), and the Gillaspie sisters, Marilyn and Gaile.  -And I have the three LPs - signed! - and the subsequent CDs to prove it!

Well, I'm still getting use to this.  I'm at work and my lunch time is running out, however.  I will post more later.  I am from Portland, Oregon, and my sister and I are planning a trip to NY at the end of July and was hoping to get some tips and make some connections.  Want to see at least 2 to 3 shows.  I'm in early 40's!  I'm excited to be in this online community.  Will post more later!  Thanks for the column.

Now I feel stupid.  I see he posted early this morning.  Anyhow, I made a note of Generous George's.  Will be staying at the Algonquin end of July.  I'm totally new at NY stuff so where is George's compared to that hotel?

Umm.. It's about 250 miles south of your hotel, just outside of Washington, DC, in Alexandria, VA.  But if you wanted to hop on the Acela and head down to DC for the day, well... ;)

And I'm thinking that DRs George and JMK could probably back me up on this too.

George's - well, not wanting to go that far.  Thought it might be in NY.  That's okay.  Any other tips are welcome.  Also if you wanna give me free tickets to a show I won't complain...ha!

DR Julie (Dear Reader), you have come to the right place. We have several Dear Readers who live in the NYC area and I'm sure will be happy to give you any tips they can. We are a friendly group.

DR Jose can tell you about any show or any kind of food, I'm sure!

We're all DRs here.

It's just a term we use, to be friendly.

And annoying at the same time.

Oh and i'm not sure if anybody mentioned this for on tv tonight:

But the LEGALLY BLONDE reality show: searching for the new ELLE starts tonight at 10pm on MTV.

I would totally be watching this if i got MTV (or if it was on MTV Canada).

Thanks for mentioning this.  I didn't realize that it was starting tonight.

Well...

As for tickets - No one gives out freebies anymore, however, there are tons of discounts out there.  Be sure to check out:

www.BroadwayBox.com

www.Playbill.com - Enroll in the Playbill.com Club - it's free!

Even the New York Times has special discount offers from time to time offered through their e-mail-list.

You might also want to sign up for smarttix.com and goldstarevents.com.  They do offer discounts every now and then for Broadway shows, but they also feature a lot of off-Broadway, comedy clubs and music acts too.

And, of course, there's always TKTS if you want to do the same-day-half-price-tickets-stand-in-line deal.

DR JulieC40 - And as for Cupcakes, Chocolates, Candy and Mac'N'Cheese, well...

You could click HERE for a brief rundown of some of the choices on the UWS.  Otherwise, just ask again.  And again.  ;)

Welcome to new dear reader Julie!  Glad she made it.  I believe she knows JMK.  Jose knows more about the great places to sup in New York, New York than almost anyone.  But FJL also knows terrific places, as does Ben and singdaw and even li'l ol' me.

I did have time to watch two HAWAII FIVE-O episodes. In the first, it was nice to have a real murder mystery with Herbert Lom as the principal suspect. Also in the guest cast were France Nuyen and Jeff Corey.
