Couldn't I just jump out of a plane today?   It would be far less fearful than what I'm doing.   I feel like I've just played piano for Horowitz (well, a live Horowitz).  In other words, I feel like I don't know what I'm doing.  No one has given me the script for life today.

I've missed you guys and you make me smile.

I don't know if this'll count, but:  Geraldine Garder...okay, I had to look this up, because it was bothering me too much.  There is an Australian singer/actress with the first name of Geraldine but I couldn't remember her last name.  I knew that she had recorded two Sondheim CDs, which I own.  The name that eventually came to me (but didn't seem right) was Geraldine Gardner (GG!), but I had to make sure.  I looked her up on IMBb.com (sometimes I start there for no reason) and she is listed HERE.  But it says that Geraldine Gardner was from England and died in 1987!  I'm pretty sure that the singer that I'm thinking of recorded the second Sondheim CD after that.  I kept thinking about the singer...I have those Sondheim CDs, I could picture her picture and finally her correct name popped into my head...Geraldine Turner.  So, just out of curiosity, I looked her up on IMDb.com and she has a listing HERE, and yes, Turner is from Australia.  But what is interesting (and my point to this otherwise pointless story) is that the two Geraldines have/had/have (almost a Sweeney Todd reference) the exact same birthday, 23 June, 1950!  Isn't that weird??  And isn't this otherwise a totally pointless story except that a mistakenly remembered name turned out to be someone a bit famous, making it eligible for today's Topic??

;)

In a nutshell, I think the party has gotten weak. I think the Democrats in Congress have been spineless. I think Obama ran a very nasty campaign, but did it in a way that he could still distance himself and play the victim if someone tried to call him on it. He's very schooled in Chicago politics and played it all the way. I think the party giving Obama 4 delegates in a state where Obama decided not to be on the ballot was totally outrageous.  I am very disgusted with party people who tell me I have to support him if he gets the nomination.  No, I don't.   I would vote for Hillary. I will not vote for Obama and I will not be a member of the party who supports him.

Good Evening!

A longtime friend of mine came by a few hours to go through a song for an audition he has on Wednesday.  He's currently on the road with Phantom of the Opera, and flew back home for a few personal days - and an audition.  Since he's also Filipino, instead of paying me in cash/check, he took me out to dinner. ;) We ended up down in Times Square at Virgil's for some pretty darn good BBQ, and we had a wonderful time catching up on each other's lives.

We met while we were both in Richmond.  In fact, I cast him in his first professional show, Violet.  He's been on the road with Phantom for just over a year, and he was an emergency-last-minute-replacement hire.  He had to head out on the road just two weeks after getting hired - and he was hired the day after his audition.   I didn't know he had gotten the gig until he was already on the road for six months!  So, needless to say, we did have a lot to catch up on.

All in all, it was a wonderful way to spend an evening.

*And I know exactly what you mean about having just "played for Horowitz".  -I've had a few moments like that myself lately.  Just remember, as long as you were still able to walk out of the room/situation, well, that's really all that matters.  :)

...And now I'm watching "Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search For Elle Woods"...  Hmm...

First of all, the pink paper has to go.  Yes, it's cute and catchy, but reading music off of pink paper ain't helping anybody.

Secondly, the singing "test" is "I Am So Much Better" - the Act One closer.  They are making the girls hold the last note out as it was originally written and performed...  Not like it was done at the MTV taping.  ;)

Thanks for reminding me of the Legally Blonde show. It's much better for my blood pressure than CNN. I recorded it so I'll start watching now

OMIGOD!  I do!  ;)

*And sort of along the lines of your "Next Food Network Star" discussion yesterday, I'm sort of surprised that more of the girls did not already have the song memorized.  -Especially since is all after the regional auditions, and initial pre-screens.  ???

I began by watching several other HAWAII FIVE-O episodes. One had Monte Markham as the (gorgeous) guest star. This one contained a great surprise ending.
