I began my evening watching the second disc of bonus features in THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES set. Informative. Would love to have seen more about Highmore's playing the two roles, jumping in and out of character as he changed clothes.

Good evening. I've been watching evidence dvds for my murder case, so I couldn't be here.  Once again the severe storms have gone north and south of us, at least so far.  We're supposed to get storms through the night, but I don't think anything will be tornadic, which is the only thing I really worry about.   Well, baseball sized hail isn't exactly a treat, been through that once, and that was too much.

I have written here many times about how wonderful I felt THE HAPPY TIME was. That show should have had as long a run as CABARET for Kander and Ebb.

Next I watched I, ROBOT on Blu-ray disc. Another magnificent video transfer with striking depth, detail, and clarity. And Fox added a DTS-HD Master Audio track that had many passages which literally rattled the windows.

Will Smith must have made this right after ALI since he had many scenes where he was showing off his chiseled body.

I ended my evening with another NCIS episode from season 1. Another serial killer on the loose, and this time Tony gets trapped. I figured out the killer's identity pretty easily.

Only three of these episodes left. I still have seasons 2 and 3 to buy (but even with the Deep Discount sale, they're not as cheap as I want to pay for them.)

DR jhvw could use some health vibes. Don't exactly have the whole scoop on what's up because I'm getting my info second and third hand (we are a dysfunctional midwestern family after all, communication is not one of our fortes).  Anyway, he's been sick and has to go in for what I believe will be relatively minor surgery Monday morning.   So, health vibes would be appreciated.  Thanks

Back from the charity event, which, as these things go, went fine but could have gone better (not our end of it - that was fine, save for our rather inept drummer, about which more later).  All the pre-show stuff outside - games, drinks, appetizers, were great.  Then the program started about twenty minutes late, and there was then about fifty minutes of talking at the audience, interrupted by a ten-minute film.  So, the actual musical entertainment came at the very end and by that time literally half the audience had bailed.  We're having a post mortem meeting Wednesday night, and that will be what I talk about.  I don't ever understand how people don't understand STRUCTURE.  What you do is give introductory remarks - you TEASE the upcoming Wicked performers and songs.  Then you show the film.  Then you TEASE the performers and Wicked again.  Then you give out the first of your three awards.  THEN you DO the entertainment.  The audience isn't tired from all the yakking, and they're now happy and excited.  THEN you give out the final two awards and do the raffle LAST.  Voila, you have a show.

I don't ever understand how people don't understand STRUCTURE.

They might well understand, but STRUCTURE takes a back seat to the ever-present desire by some to hear themselves talk.

Back at my room and exhausted!

The banquet was wonderful...they put on a Lone Ranger radio show and a Superman radio show (Noel Neil played the part of Lois Lane) which were both a ton of fun. They gave out awards to each of the celebrity guests who had to come up front and make a speech...Laurie Mitchell got some good laughs as she was in fine form!

I think it's some sort of a GI problem, so cookies may not be the answer, but thanks for the vibes.

Better get off the computer, I hear the rumbling of thunder....well, it's still pretty far away, but if I disappear, it's the weather

I left Laurie in the Hospitality Suite with Gregg Palmer, Beverly Washburn, Greg Moffett, and others....they were all having a good time and the alcohol was flowing! I was just too tired to partake of it any longer. Kenny Miller had already headed to his room as he has to make a 6 am flight.

What I really want to know is why the strawberry rhubarb sauce includes lemon juice.  Is it just as a preservative of some sort?   It isn't like rhubarb needs the tartness of lemon juice
