Somebody bought me an unknown vegetable to cook for dinner.

They thought it was a turnip. It has the purplish skin. But it is shaped more like a large onion. And is white inside (vs light orange). Anyone know what it is?

On a happier note, I had a lively phone call from Miss Kim Criswell in London, and she asked me to score "Night and Day" for her July 10(

) concert in Italy. I just called her conductor Kevin Farrell about getting his copy of Kim's piano arrangement, and I'll meet him at 6:30 for dinner to catch up on gossip and pick up the music. I miss my Kimmy, I do.
