...
"Pie cookie" is a termed coined by my Mom, who would gather up scraps of leftover pie dough and make little sugar/cinnamon cookies for me. They resembled tiny cinnamon rolls, because of the spiral center.

In my family, those were (and still are) called Wound Cookies, because my mother wound them up, sliced them, and baked them.

Thank you for the welcome, DR Ginny.

Wound cookies ... that's fascinating. I've never known anyone else who's had a "pie cookie" equivalent.

Hello DR Ginny.
Less "troubled" I guess.  Sometimes we just need time to process events and adjust to realities.

And of course we all want to change things that are not within our powers! Life just unfolds as it was meant to do.

No wonder the first musical I ever saw was "Kismet".

I use my left over dough to make small "cookies" for my Dog!

(Not that I cook much - my rare cooking is usually in the manufacture of Scones (the type that would be served with jam and clotted cream in Devon!).

DR Ginny - I just purchased (I really should join a library) the third book in the Robin Hobb series "The Liveship Traders".

Who'd have thought I would certainly start reading Fantasy novels etc. Well I would not have considered a few years back!

I'm also reading "Breath" by Oz Writer Tim Winton. His writing is beautiful but I feel as I've been down the same path before - a few times.

Good Evening!

We just had a line of storms move through.  Lots of wind and rain, but, thankfully, the power stayed on - even after some quite brilliant strikes of lightning.

And now it's supposedly 20 degrees cooler outside right now.  :)

I think I just discovered why DR JoseSPiano is watching "Nashville Star."

Justin Gaston.  And the adventurous can see his underwear modeling here!

Um.  I wasn't watching "Nashville Star".  And I still don't think I will, but Thanks!  ;)

I mostly look at my feet these days, so I don't get distracted and slow down.

But maybe Friday I'll go for a fun walk.

WARNING!!!! Looking only at your feet can result in running into things directly ahead of you!!!

Tomorrow morning - I've just had my last food and water until it's over.

Matt, is Pam Reed in the second season of JERICHO?

In what role? I don't remember her name in the credits, but I could have missed it.

I spent all evening with the remaining episodes of JERICHO. The series really was a wonderfully made action-adventure show, and since the second season was reduced to seven episodes, there isn't an ounce of fat anywhere to be seen in the plotting. Very slick, fast-moving, and some really riveting episodes.

Loved that stand-off at the medical center.

The two-disc set offers a total of 14 deleted/extended scenes. Some are seconds long and other last three or four minutes. There is commentary with everyone of them, too (if you want to listen to it; it can be turned off).

BTW, the final episode also has a commentary, so that means every one of the seven episodes has commentary from various people connected with the show.

There are two documentaries on the second disc. The first is about a half hour summarizing the production of the second season. Some pretty good behind-the-scenes stuff that I enjoyed watching.

The other was about 9 minutes on the "peanut" campaign that won the show a second season after CBS had canceled it. Nice summary of what happened and the principal people behind the effort to get the show back on the air.

I have two Criterions on their way to me, but since they won't get here until Firday at the earliest, I think I'll take tomorrow off and watch some stuff for fun. (Of course, if other things come in the mail, those plans will change).

I have one more NCIS episode from season 1 to watch and, of course, THE MOLE from Monday which I didn't get to tonight.
