Nice to have a day off today.

Tonight, we shall be supping on pork loin chops, which are brining even as I write.  Plus mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy.  And broccoli.

When was this photo taken (and I hope you kept your hand off of his one-note samba)?

And, tonight, the Doctor and Donna meet up with Agatha Christie in The Unicorn and the Wasp, the latest episode of Doctor Who.

But everyone knew about that already, right?

I'm sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Nudelman. He sounded like a great person. I hate to hear that we've lost another fellow preservationist, but it sounds like he accomplished quite a lot during his short time here.

bk, did anyone say what happened to him?

How do they "make" tomatoes in Canada?

In spite of der Brucer's map yesterday, California has been ruled out as a source for the tainted tomatoes.  Stores have stopped stocking all tomatoes not grown in California, however.

Where will it all lead to and when will it end?

Everyone should know by now that it isn't safe to eat rare tomatoes! Well done is always safer.

The audit/inventory went very well.  But I'm way far behind on my regular work, and will have to work my butt off to catch up again.

Borrow a page from Cleopatra's book - have your Nubian servants give you sponge baths (when not fanning you and feeding you dates).

der Brucer

I gotta getsome of them Nubian servants.   I wouldn't mind someone feeding me dates.

Good Afternoon!

Well, I'm back for a post-movie break - and also to get my MoMA membership card from my other wallet.

I did go see "The Happening".  There was an 11:30 showing at the AMC Magic Johnson Theatres down on 125th Street - just 20 blocks, or one express stop away on the subway.

Well...  After a while - and it felt like a long while - it became more of a game of "spot the New York City actor" to me.  -And I believe a few others in the theatre.  It was basically the only way to keep from laughing.

Apparently, M. Night was hoping that this movie would redeem his Hollywood cred, well... IMHO, he has a whole lot more redeeming to do.  What a truly strange - in all senses of the word - and stupid - in all senses of that word - it is.  It's almost so bad and stupid that I may have to see it again.  NOT!

Thankfully, I only spent $6.00, so... Not too bad.  -And I was able to get part of today's crossword puzzle down during the 15 minutes(!?!?!?) of previews.

Does Mark Wahlberg take off his clothes?

These days most dates are "cybian" DR TCB.

(You can probably arrange a cyber serbian date though - but possibly not with a nubie)

We are expecting DS Rob and his girlfriend who are on their way to her parents' home in Michigan.  They're going to stop here to eat some pizza with us and to take my car so they can transport some furniture back to Cincinnati for her apartment.  Not like I'm gonna need my car for a while  ::)

Did a few more errands - shipped several bigger packages, had some lunch, and now may watch an episode of something or other on DVD.

DVD  Josh Groban at the Greek.
CD:  "The Heat of Summer" - Don Henley & Glen Frey

Josh Groban at the Greek sounds more like one of elmore's videos!

I don't like cooked tomatoes except in sauces.

I've eaten ripe tomatoes my entire life.  They don't get any better than those ripened on the vine and sold in farmer's markets or from local stores selling fresh, locally grown produce.

I have two large heirlooms at home right now, and nothing in the world is going to stop me from having a couple of juicy 'mater sammiches.

Good Grief! Something else in common with DR Ron. I too avoid cooked tomatoes - except in sauces!

Well there is that and LOTR.

My brothers - three!  (three families) and we didn't share our childhoods - all have an aversion to cooked tomatoes!
