I had about an hour left, not enough time to rewatch the film with the commentary turned on, so I watched all of the other bonus features. There was an interview with the star of the movie (who played Emile in the Glenn Close SOUTH PACIFIC some years back). There was a making of documentary. There was some behind-the-scenes footage of the director shooting various takes of some scenes. There was a music video. There were 6 scenes that had just a music and effects track so one could hear the music of Anastasia used in the film. And there were 80 pages of pictures from the director's book of photography called STREET.

And I'll be recording tonight's LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT and IN PLAIN SIGHT tonight on USA while I'm watching the Tonys. Won't be able to see them "live."

As for the "tantrum"... Well, there was a legitimate technical issue during the Gypsy segment, and Ms. LuPone did what any other performer would have done.  And, frankly, should have done.  -And they had the same issue later on... And the performer(s) requested to start again too.  I'll talk about the particulars later if anyone is interested - or hasn't read about it on the chat boards by then.

Oh, it was a legit tantrum - didn't mean to imply otherwise.  She's a total pro.

No spoiler alerts necessary for the pre-show.

Jose, one thing I'd really like to know - why would these Tony producers allow screaming fans in the balcony for a dress rehearsal?  These producers truly are idiots if they did - and they deserve what they get and they get what they deserve.

I'm going to eat some lunch now, watch some more Mannix and then do some work.  What time and what channel is the preshow on?

We don't have to observe spoilert alerts during the one hour "pre-show," do we?  That's available to everyone on-line in real time.

...And on a related note... Sondheim's Lifetime Achievement Award is nicely incorporated into the broadcast portion of tonight's ceremony.  -At least it was in part during the dress rehearsal.

Supposedly they'll be webcasting the "red carpet" arrivals a half hour before that.

A good portion of the "screaming fans" were students from some of the Theatre Wing's Outreach Programs.  Others were volunteers who were setting up the pre- and post-Tony parties and events.  Additionally, from what I could tell, a lot of "industry" folk were in attendance this morning too.  People and offices associated with shows, but who may not have been on the "first-call" list in regards to ticket distribution.  I saw a lot of interns walking up and down the aisles.

No worries.  I just wasn't sure if the quotes surrounding "tantrum" were yours or someone else's.

One thing that really annoyed me during this morning's dress rehearsals were the people who were purely there to gather autographs from as many people as they could.  They would stalk out the "Talent Check-In" desk...  If someone was brought up for a photo-op with a particular group or person, then they would run up with their photos, posters(!) and pens in hand.  Thankfully(?), everyone seemed to be very relaxed and happy to sign.

*There were two gentlemen who were working as a team.  One had a folder of 8x10s, one had a portfolio with show cards.  -And on each photo and showcard was one of those Post-It Note tabs with the celebrity's or celebrities' name on them for easy reference and access.  -However, it was fun seeing when someone they didn't expect to see today show up, and they didn't have an appropriate photo or poster for them to sign.  ;)

DR JoseSPiano - from observing the rehearsal, do you agree with some people who criticize Radio City Music Hall as a venue for the Tonys - that it's just too large, and robs the event of some immediacy and theatricality?

I thought Ginny would be dancing Dainty June this evening.

My left foot is more suited to the number that Louise does with Tulsa while still wearing her cow feet.

I've never liked it nearly as much as when it was done in a legit house, but back then, some of those big houses were empty. Now, they're in use, and it would be a terrible hassle.

I'm going to head down and listen to the commentary on the Criterion disc, and then around 7, see if I can get the preshow on my computer. I wasn't able to last year.

If we want to work up our HHW version of "Along Came Bialy," I'm all set for props.  And I've come to understand why my mother-in-law developed carpal tunnel syndrome after she became dependent on a walker.

DR Jose, I am pretty sure we will be seeing the show with Ms. Parsons.  We are so excited about our trip.  I haven't said that yet, have I? :)  I do really hope that when we see Gypsy at a matinee that we don't get an understudy for Patti.  What is your thinking, do you think that may happen?

Thanks for asking, DR JulieC40!  I'm feeling much better than I did a couple of days ago when the meds were making me sick.  My foot really doesn't hurt as long as I stay off of it.  Even when I do get up and move around, there isn't much pain as long as I don't do something stupid - like put my weight on it.  It's hard to believe that I still have 5+ weeks off work, so maybe there's something on the horizon that I'm not aware of.

When she did VELVITA, I don't believe Patti ever did matinees.  It seems to be that there was another alternate actress listed for all of the matinees.

DR JulieC40 - I had corrective surgery for a bunion and hammertoe to prevent my left foot from looking like my Mother's in 30 years.

Okay, let me get this straight - there's a red carpet arrival happening now?  And the pre-show starts shortly?  And all this is ONLY being streamed on the INTERNET?   Have these people completely lost their minds, yes or no?

Well, why am I not reading posts about what is going on - certainly I will not be watching anything on the Internet.  We're supposed to be having our annual Tony Awards Do, so I recomment each and every one of you to get off your butt cheeks and start telling us exactly what's going on, what's being said, who's wearing what and everything pre-show, where thare are NO spoilers.

I find it more than a little pathetic that on Tony Awards Do Day we are still on page five.  I think we had two or three people give predictions.  I think I may vomit on the ground if this continues.

YEAH!  I can watch the Red Carpet arrivals live on NY1 - without the couple seconds of delay of the internet stream.
