Good morning, all! Another day with the NYPL and Toyland. This afternoon I turn over the Daniel Rodriguez medley to the conductor, so I've got about 20 bars to finish scoring before then.
I'm not at all upset about the break-in at my dad's house. I wish the damned thieves had torched it when they left; then we could have collected the insurance on the place. The house has been sitting empty for 27 months, and everything remotely wanted was removed 27-12 months ago. Theproblem has been getting the remainder of thecrap in it taken away, and last year, when my dad's estate had the money to hire a crew to do it, the Macbeths refused to be helpful, and I couldn't dump everything on Randy. On my trips back last year, I couldn't get any support to handle a crew or the cleaning out of the house, so I stopped caring. In November, when I paid the estate taxes, I told my brothers that, so far as I was concerned, the property was now our concern and no longer the estate's.
The burglars were clearly scoping out the situation and aware that no one was regularly showing up at ther property. I'm only glad that Randy wasn't on the property when they were robbing the place.
