Maybe I'll go to the jail and do visits this afternoon.

Don't forget the layer cake with the embedded file!    :D

TOD:

Food: I've no idea.

Sleep:  Up to 72 hours, IIRC.  It was while I was in the Navy, and was on USS Kitty Hawk in the Persian Gulf circa 1993.  We were the launching pad for airstrikes against Iraq which was in violation of U.N. sanctions.  International media descended upon us and -- as I was in Public Affairs -- we were fully accommodating, hosting up to 20 per night and getting their tapes and cassettes flown back to shore three times per day.  I know there was a long stretch where the most sleep I could hope for would have to be done in catnaps while sitting up, but I've never been good at that...and the danged 1MC  (that's the ship's announcement system) kept going off so that I never managed to sleep any.

This evolution lasted about two weeks.  I know I got a few hours sleep here and there, but when it was done, I slept about 24 hours straight.

there's a "standing order" for this test for me, so I guess I'll be having it fairly frequently throughout the summer

TMC aired "Boy on a Dolphin" yesterday.  I "captured" it on my DVR.

It's a nice print (not spectacular, but clean-ish) and in really nice stereo.

Fox did some amazing CinemaScope films in the mid-50s that served as both story and travelogue and the CinemaScope cameras captured various locales in what should be, today, considered definitive snapshots of those places.

"Woman's World" is a prime example, with stunning vistas of New York City circa 1954-55.

"Boy on a Dolphin" captured not only mesmerizing views of Greek Islands and the Aegean Sea, but also of Athens and the Acroplis.

I didn't eat no chocolate pie last night.

I had spaghetti, though.

I wasn't as hungry as I thought I would be, for some reason.

I'm blaming this on the smoke that is choking us slowly to death.

In the FWIW department, today is supposed to be the worst unhealthy air day yet, and the next couple of days are expected to be worse.

The main culprit in this is a raging wildfire 115 miles north of us.  It's only 15% contained and unlikely to be put out any time soon.  We are being treated to southerly winds that are sweeping all the smoke directly into the Bay Area where it's swirling around in its own little vortex.

As the sun rises, the morning is becoming more "golden" by the second.

Thanks, DR Singdaw!  Actually, if all the techs there are as good as the one I had this morning, it won't be bad.  I'm a tough subject, small veins, but she had no trouble and didn't even leave a bruise.

On a more cheerful note, my sister is coming to visit later today from Michigan.  She and a friend are on their way to Kentucky for a retirement party and are staying overnight tonight with my mom.

TOD - Probably when DS Rob was born.  I'd had dinner on Friday night and didn't eat again until a couple of hours after he was born on Saturday night (probably about 30 hours).  As for sleep, I woke up about 2am that Saturday and didn't really sleep again for about 24 hours.  But it was all worth it.

In the "olden days", we had a poster who went by the name "FreedUnit".  Does anyone know what happened to him?  Is he posting here under another name?

But onward and upward, I always say.

I may not say it here, but I do say it often.

What do you always say even if you don't say it here, but you do say it often?

I should have checked my register receipt before I left Borders!  The clerk [and it was not DR td] did not enter the coupon properly, and I did not get my 20% discount!    :P

And just where is DR td, anywho?  Have we seen him here since the Tonys?

So many questions....

Perhaps they will be answered by the ting-a-ling of the chimes at midnight!  :D

I have found Border's to be quite helpful when that's happened to me.  I simply call the store, they usually ask for the receipt number, which is somewhere on there, and they can do it over the phone.  It's happened a couple of times to me and been solved quickly.
