This could be an interesting evening in Rehoboth.

The beach crowd for fire-works is well in excess of 100,000. Many people park out side of town and take a special shuttle into the beach. The fire-works are planned to start in 45 minutes.

It has now comenced to rain! If everybody decided to call it quits, it would take at least 2-3 hours to clear out the town - there are only two exit roads!

Oooh - rolling thunder to introduce the festivities!

I gamble on the fact that our house sits well down a slope - I leave the TV and the computer on even with lightening strikes nearby.

I've ended up watching a delightful British comedy SCENES OF A SEXUAL NATURE with two of my favorite actors, Eileen Atkins and Benjamin Whitrow, as an elderly couple and a lot of entertaining younger ones, including Mark Strong of the BBC EMMA and MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY and Ewan MacGregor.

I've been down in the family room watching some of the NCIS marathon with Richard and eating our "picnic" dinner - hot dogs, baked beans, chips.

Now, I'm back in my haven watching the Macy's 4th of July gala.

Fireworks are just starting around here.....

And this year, I don't have to worry about Miss Blue Moon being afraid of the loud noises.....  I kind of wish I did, though.

Before my time, DR JRand, but I'll ask Richard.  When I was growing up in Detroit in the '50s, our dairy delivery was Borden's.

Ours was Maplehurst from the time I can remember which was probably '53 or so, but I think they were only in the Indianapolis and surrounding area.

SLC was Winder Dairy, which was also a big field trip in probably third or fourth grade.

Only if you're referring to nice Mormon women in those little paper hairnets.  :)

-And, now, I'm flipping between "A Capitol Fourth" and the US Olympic Swimming Trials.

Hmm... It does indeed look like Taylor Hicks had had a bit a of grooming and tweezing for his Broadway debut.

I don't suppose that includes some lipo and a serious butt tuck, does it?  He could USE those.

We just had a "Happy 4th" phone call from DS Rob, who was watching fireworks from the shore of Grand Traverse Bay, Michigan.

Well, we're off to Adair's, who will have a front row seat of the Ft. Vancouver fireworks from her Columbia River townhome.  Of course, I am prepared to be regaled with stories (and pictures) of her new best friend, Burt.  ;)

Back from a delightfully delightful partay and I have  photographs to proove it - which I'll try to post a little later.  I ate one bite of excellent jambalaya, and then stopped.  I'm sauteeing some chicken, mushrooms and onions now - that's what I had a hankerin' for.

Well... I've re-packed my bags, cleaned out the fridge, completed the online check-in process, and set my alarms.  And now I'm going to try to get a few hours of sleep before those alarms go off.  So...

Goodnight.

Sleep well, DR Jose, and have a smooth trip tomorrow.  You'll be enroute before I wake up, probably.
