Once I got home, I commenced with making dinner - especially since I had already had dessert during my walk.  And continuing with my disgustingly healthy eating habits lately - even in light of my "truffle diversion" - I supped on a filet of sockeye salmon seasoned with a splash of soy sauce and lemon juice, steamed spinach and quinoa.  YUM!

I've got dinner to prepare.

(The paragraph that was here contained far too many euphemisms for a family website.  Sorry.  But if der Brucer and I were vegetarians, our lives would be much duller, I think!)

We had tilapia, wild rice and sauteed squash for dinner and some fresh fruit for dessert. I went shopping this morning before Anthony came back from Long Island. I already had the tilapia but he brought back a huge squash from Rose and Phil's garden. I cut it in half and sauteed it and it was delish.

Back to the grind tomorrow. But I have a new container of oatmeal, blueberries, dried apricots, a couple of bananas, dried strawberries and some clementines (not for the oatmeal) with which to flavor my morning repast.

The clementines and the apples are for my morning break and my afternoon break during the workday.

I got some wonderful fruit and vegetables at the Manhattan Fruit Exchange. I'm sure Jose knows where that is and some from the famous Eating/Walking tour might remember (though you may not have gone into the place). It's in Chelsea Market. They have very good produce and considering the prices at some of the other establishments in Chelsea Market, the prices are very reasonable, even in this time of recession.

I will now settle down with my new copy of PCWorld. It's exciting to me, and that's all that counts. See you in the morning.

DR Ginny, thank you.  Much has been going on in my family lately.  Actually Craig is somewhat bored.  He would very much like an interesting job with a future, as well as money & a new apartment.

I'm about halfway through Murphy's Law the first Molly Murphy mystery by Rhys Bowen, recommended by my sister-in-law.  Molly is an Irish lass who arrives in Manhattan in 1901 and becomes a sleuth.

Now I want to visit Ellis Island.

If one says "if two million people stop paying taxes" I think it's pretty clear what's being talked about.  Note the absence of the word "sales" in front of the word "taxes."  Why would two million people not paying sales tax cause the downfall of the IRS, which is, I believe, what I was talking about.  If two million people said "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore" and didn't pay their income tax, there would be a swift change in the way this country is run, believe you me.

I am the people's candidate and you can spin and spin and all it will get you is dizzy.

I proofed the band parts and got the corrections to the copyist, made some spaghetti sauce with Italian sausage and mushrooms and had spaghetti for dinner, and cleaned out the other large closet.  Now i have 14 cartons of books, music, playbills, etc. to send to Miami University. Excellent!

The Big Question is, what do I do with 29 years of IRS receipts and return?

I'll think about it tomorrow. Fiddle-dee-dee.

Recovery mode in OZ!
My PC has a new hard drive - and no information lost.

DP's Stepmother's 80th Birthday celebrations were held here yesterday - 60 or so guests.  The Surprise guest was Stepmom Rosie's twin sister Elma.  (Coincidence: She was also having her 80th birthday yesterday.)

Larry - If you're serious about one day writing your memoirs, keep at least the tax returns and receipts - they will be good reminders of what you did, where you did it, when and maybe even why.

I don't think I have to pay Income Tax from now on.  Age is a wonderful thing. No more filling in of forms (or or paying someone else to do it).

There is a point that if hypothetically everyone immediately stopped withholding on their employees and stopped paying estimates, that would be an immediate stoppage of inflow to the IRS.

Next Saturday we are having our annual "Christmas in July" function. It is held in memory of my Mother (Her Birthdate is July 20th).  This year's luncheon will be on July 19th. It is OZ Derek's birthday.

For those who remember - Derek's "Ted" lives here.  He is taking an airmail journey to Tasmania to spend July 19th (plus a few months) with Derek's sister Maureen. Also making the journey is "Bro" Bear from NYC - a gift from The Vixter.  Both Bears are very excited!

It has been a good time DR Jose.  The memories are special indeed.

Four of the ladies here yesterday were "Hello Girls" from the days of manual telephone exchanges.

Thanks DR Jane.

As you can no doubt imagine - "Magnus" sitting has been our major concern but I think we have it sorted out now with very special friends who know and care about our loving dog.  We wanted to make sure he could stay here in his own surroundings.  He is almost deaf now and has poor vision.  His memory is fine though - He associatesUnlce Jo Jo with happiness.
