I had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich - not as good as usual today.  I also recorded two more songs - have done ten so far and am in act three of The Hostage so there shouldn't be too many more.

I should turn the oven on, for tonight's baked potatoes.  My stomach is starting to get rumbly.

Beef chuck steak (to be thinly sliced).  Baked potatoes.  Salad, with a store-brand mango-lime vinaigrette (which sounds intriguing).  And I think I'm going to fry up some leek rounds, to garnish somehow.

And I bet that mango-lime vinaigrette would make a nice glaze and/or sauce for some grilled shrimp or mahi-mahi too.

*I had to stop into Whole Foods earlier to pick up some olive oil - I'm trying a bottle Chilean stuff this time round - and there was a table set up with samples from Carrillo Salsa.  -And behind the table was the owner/founder of the company - which is based in Rye, NY.  Rye, New York?  In any case...

I did indeed sample some of the salsas, and they were all quite tasty.  After checking out the ingredient panels I noticed that they were all very low in sodium, which is a rarity in bottled salsas.  The owner/founder went on to explain how salt is the last seasoning he adds to his salsas since he wants most of the taste to come from the chiles, tomatoes, tomatillos, garlic, etc.  "Salt is cheap, which is why a lot of manufacturers use a lot of it."  I went ahead and took home a bottle of their Salsa Verde Refresco©... Which was a perfectly complement to the mahi-mahi I prepared for my dinner.

**And, yes, the founder/owner had very nice blue eyes.  ;)

OH!  And the Chilean EVOO (as Rachael Ray would say) was/is quite tasty too.

It's been a busy day and I was really getting things done, so of course my brother had to send an email jumping in on the family garbage.  Good Grief! Can't they just leave me alone until my trial is over?  Edith thinks I should just block all of them until August.  She also thinks I need to attend a legal pad addicition 12 step program.  I must admit I do use about 25 legal pads when most people would still be using the same one..

Probably.  A couple of nights ago I prepped some chicken thighs (boneless, skinless) as I would for sweet-and-sour, but served the cooked chicken bits with the S.B. Vidalia onion and sesame/ginger dressings as dipping sauces.  Very tasty.

Other than that it was a good day.   We took field trips, knocked on doors looking for witnesses and discussed the case over fabulous chicken pot pies at Green Gables

My feet are tired.

And Saturday I'll be hitting the parking lot pavement again.  Yep, Frank will still be out, and I'm the guy they've tagged to sub for him in the early hours of the morn.

I got a bit of sun, at least.  Not enough to turn me into bronzed godhood yet, but it's a start.

The rain passed us here too.  "They" were forecasting storms for yesterday and today, but, instead, got nothing but beautiful blue skies and comfortable humidity.  :)

Der Brucer is an addict.

He has discovered The Big Bang Theory.

I think it reminds him of people he has known.

What about you?  The show always makes us laugh!

I'm just hoping that the storms are truly "intermittent" while I'm down in Disneyworld tomorrow and on the cruise.  It's definitely Hurricane Season, now, so...  But, at least if it rains while I'm on the cruise, there's always Bingo.  ;)

I should walk down and get the mail.

I should have done this before eating.  A fast long walk in the heat & oppressive air was not a good idea.  The last long uphill walk didn't sit well with my stomach.

I had some water, am cooling down & should be fine soon.  :)

I really like this show, too.  It's very funny...although, I have five or six episodes recorded that I still haven't watched.  Someday. ;)

Just out of curiousity, does vixmom have a "block" on HHW so the vixter can't read posts posted when she's not online?

No, no she doesn't

I'm watching a really cheesy victim movie on Lifetime, just to see the little Mamma Mia! inserts.  Beginning to think it's not worth it, but I have to see how the melodrama turns out.

My sympathies on the cheesey movie?

I finished watching the documentary of Jacques Tati made by his daughter. It was actually 102 minutes. The documentary had been divided into two sections, each 51 minutes long. Nice to see clips from work other than his Hulot films and interviews he gave throughout his life. I enjoyed it.
