Wouldn't you just DIE without Mahler?

Said the kinder of Kindertotenlieder.

I had a cheese omelet and bacon for breakfast.

And now it sits on my stomach like so much scrambled eggs.

Thanks for posting the picture of Magnus, DR TCB.  I am sure that Magnus and Miss Blue Moon are having a wonderful time at the Rainbow Bridge, enjoying the sunshine and water and fields.....

TOD:

CD - Soundtrack to Mamma Mia....which I won't get to see this weekend!

DVD - The Earth Dies Screaming....it doesn't, but this is sort of a British version of Target Earth with some really ... well, homely.... people in it.
The invader robots are interesting looking though.

DVD:  BluE-Ray of Vantage Point.  Just got to one of the big "twists," which I must say DS Betsy and I were not expecting (no, it wasn't the "obvious" doppelganger--ooh, a sort of Mahler reference--one).

CD:  nothing much lately.  I am overwhelmed by stacks of unopened CDs.

DS Zach asked what VINTAGE Point was about last night.  :)  I have decided that would be a great miniseries about winemakers.  ;)

So many of us bought Tandy/Radio Shack computers back in the day, I am surprised they didn't become a major player.  I guess their lack of IBM compatibility was fatal.

I hope you put on your Sunday clothes, 'cause I had images of you as a present-day Elmo Levi gathering all the folks up and whisking them off to the railroad station.

Thank you, DR Ron Pulliam, but I will be wearing my Saturday play clothes. Have you ever ridden the Long Island? Oy!

RIP, Jo Stafford!

Noooooooo! We never got to interview her about Johnny Mercer. Damn! I had always wanted to meet her (I love her Jonathan and Darlene albums). Her son told us she wasn't up to being interviewed when we were in LA last time, but he would be in touch if she did feel better. Oh, that's sad...

I'd settle for just, perhaps, a piece of Mahler's.    8)

It is not just Jason and Sir Gielgud that are giving me problems.  The very dear Mr. Morelli is being very naughty indeed.  Nanatte Fabray, Kevin Spirtas, Billy Haines, dear Miss Lillian Gish and Susan Gordon have all decided to act up in my hallway.  And even BK himself sometimes.

Damn! I hate it when my plans go awry. Yesterday, I made a chart of the musical numbers and the personnel needed for each number in the NYMF show. I can find neither my script nor my chart, so I've just reprinted the libretto, abd I will now redo the chart nstead of going to the NYPL.

It's possible I left it in the office yesterday, but if I run down and it isn't there but lost in the rubble here, I won't be prepared for the meeting.

So . . .

DR Edisaurus, we watched the premiere of The Closer last night courtesy the DVR.  In your work, do you get the edited final episodes of the show, or does that process happen after you do your work?  Or concurrently?

I wonder if the national television ratings account for people that DVR shows and watch them later?

DR Kerry - just don't add E&T DR Cason to your collection, or you'll have real trouble on your hands!

The Grapes of Roth?

Did you hear about the big fire at the curtain factory - it destroyed most of the building where the Drapes of Roth are stored.

With acknowledgment to Mr Allan Sherman.  ;D

Has anyone had problems with Paypal and Kritzerland? I ordered two copies of MURDER AT HOLLYWOOD HIGH, udpated my shopping cart and when it went to Paypal, the damned service charged me for only one copy. I just did it again and the same thing occurred!

Doing something twice when it can done once really pisses me off.

Oh, and my DH has worked quite a bit with Dave Brubeck.

Dave is my piano hero; I've loved him since I was a kid. What an amazing family he has. I love them all. Dave is probably one of the sweetest people ever. I got to know then when they visited my college town several times, for a few weeks at a time, and I performed with a small solo group in his massive choral piece GATES OF JUSTICE. (We combined 4 big choral groups and my 16 piece group did he chorale solos) I became friends with his son Darius for a few years. He moved to Africa, so we don't get together much now... :-)
