I have noticed in both professional and community theater there seems to be a different work ethic these days - not from everyone -

Only in the theater! :-\

I probably mentioned this before, but I am going to mention it one more time:

During a tennis tournament in San Francisco in the mid-1990s (I believe it was sponsored by Virginia Slims at the time), Martina Navratilova was playing.

The referee who sits at the net line called one of her balls "out."  She claimed it was on the line, and he countered "It was out by 8 inches."

Navratilova was heard muttering: "Yeah...and men have been telling women it was 8 inches since the beginning of time!"

Back from my two-mile jog, which was easier today.  I've been struggling with one line of this new lyric I'm writing - it had to perfectly match the scan and syllables of another line - I knew what the line should be saying but I couldn't make it fit no matter how many times I reworded it.  As usual it came to me on my jog - two blocks into it, which meant I had to remember it until I got back twenty minutes later.  Thankfully, I did.

And I'm glad to see Jane's here - I don't like it when she goes on these sabbaticals.  Even if it's five minutes a day, it's a better day with Jane here.  I haz spoken.

DR MattH, i don't know if you watched this week's THE MOLE (or even if you got to last week yet). I only got part way through last night (so my post has nothing to do with who got eliminated this week.

But i found some of the behavior last night VERY INTERESTING!

in case you did not watch last week yet. 1. i don't see how mark could be the mole. last week he basically solved all the puzzles while running on the treadmill. and this week he solved them all again! 2. how on earth could clay say he's a genius and yet he could not subtract!!??? that was ludicrous and very suspicious. however he then went to solve the lock combo without even having nicole give him the number. That was impressive! 3. paul has been my leading suspect and my gosh he totally put them in the wrong direction. ANd last week he purposely made clay and alex go to an answer he (paul) knew was wrong). 4. i really don't think nicole could be the mole. 5. fat guy (my mind just went blank on his name) made a mistake as nicole pointed out by giving her the wrong number during the task. Anyhow i'm finding this show very intersting. But i guess stupidity coupled with people TRYING to act molelike makes it very hard to figure out who is guilty!

There must be some Andrew Lloyd Webber songs that even people who don't follow musical theatre would know.

The title songs to the Phantom Of The Opera or Jesus Christ Superstar?

"Don't Cry For Me Argentina" from Evita?

"Memory" from Cats (everyone must know this one right?).

This happens to me all the time on Initials Game TM day when I go to walk the dog in the morning.  It's an interesting memory test, and I think mine's getting a little bit better as a result.   :)

What i meant was you might actually know an ALW song but not realize it!

Btw, even though he comes off slightly goofy on the MARIA show. I actually think he makes a great judge.

He is really complimentary. And he really took the time out to explain what he thought about each performer!

On my way to lunch now - it got pushed up to noon.  I've decided on the half-rack of baby back ribs - I usually have the barbecue brisket sandwich, but that's with three pieces of white bread (traditional style) and tons of brisket and lots of sauce.  I think there's far less meat on the ribs, no bread, and I control the sauce factor, so I'm hoping that's the right thing to do.

Van Dyke Parks is playing at Tangier Supper Club tomorrow night...some wonderful music with Inara George, Lowell George's daughter.

What a time not to live in LA. Dang!

Thank you :)

My problem, I stay longer than I should, and I really need to tear my house apart, clean it and put it back together again.  Following the house, we need to begin on the garage.

From Edi:

I notice she's showing a lot more skin and having more intimate moments with Fritz. I wonder if it's in response to SAVING GRACE?

IMHO, she lost weight when Brenda had to stop eating sweets and is now showing off her fantastic body ;)

Oh my god. They are the cutest puppies in the world! (Apart from DD Sherlock of course!) How long ago was the photo taken?

It is a great honor for Sherlock to be considered as cute as those pups.

Back from what appears to have been my last appointment with the foot surgeon.  He says that the swelling of my foot is normal and that no longer wearing my funny shoe will help.  Well, that's fine and dandy, except the only other thing I can get on my left foot is a fuzzy slipper.  Won't that look cute with my work clothes on Monday?
