I remember DR Jane as being rather slinky, not slung-back, the time we met.

I noticed that DR KnowsNot listed some songs from ALW Woman in White. I doubt anyone else would mention the show. It is best forgotten.

And anything I can do to keep "The Hoff" OUT of my life, the better my quality of life is.

I've considered inviting him over for cheeseburgers on the floor.

DP Colin and I received a lovely card from a DR in the NW today.  I'd mention the name of the DR (and family) and say how touched we both were by the sentiments expressed but my post would be ignored so I won't bother.

Has anyone heard from Tomovoz?

I don't know about the younger generation's behavior on-stage...

But at the store we regularly have new kids working.  Some of them work out, and their work is deeply appreciated.  Some of them are pains in the patootie, and nobody appreciates them.  And every so often, one of them gets dumped, and they aren't missed one bit.

The trick is to focus on the kids who work out, who are usually the quieter ones who take a certain pride in getting the job done right, and who get rewarded for their efforts later on.  I'm thinking right now of Mike, who used to wrangle carts and now works in the meat department, and Kenny, who used to be a bagger and now spends most of his days "shopping back" items that customers have decided not to purchase for whatever reason.  Both are dedicated to their jobs, and knowing them offsets the less-than-stellar kids who don't share their attitude.

Kenny, btw, started with us as a bagger at fourteen, and has already been promoted to the more responsible position at fifteen.  He is, in a word, a hot-dog, and is going to go places.

From FINAL FANTASY VIII, Karen Carpenter singing  ”Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”

I still love her version of the song, but isn't that kind of like syncing the movie WIZARD OF OZ to the music of Pink Floyd?

Since I've got Joy of Cooking out, let's check out Sauce Louis, used in Crab and Shrimp Louis Salads, and a favorite of our esteemed BK:

Combine 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup chili sauce, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 cup finely chopped red, yellow, or green bell pepper, 1/4 cup finely chopped scallions, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, and salt and black pepper to taste.

Yep, it's there, right up there, Worcestershire sauce.  With anchovies in it.  They snuck in there again!

Yum-Oh!!!

I've got a chicken to spatchcock and roast.

I'm thinking of sneeking in some Worcestershire into the cilantro-lemon butter I'll be slipping under the bird's skin.

 ;D, just because I can!

Justice vibes for DR Cillaliz and her client.

Thanks DR Laura.   We did a jury questionaire -14 pages long.  We went through them to see who we'd need to talk to individually before doing vior dire of the entire panel and we discovered we needed to talk to all of them!   SO we are doing partially individual vior dire.   What that means is each juror comes in separately and we ask questions raised by their answers on the questionaire and then when we get 40 people we will do the traditional ask them all questions.   After being there from 9:00 to 6:00 - I literally got 10 minutes for lunch and a 10 minute break in the afternoon - we have 17. Not even 1/2 way done.  We start again at 8:00 AM.  They think we can get a jury by noon.  I say they are dreaming.

I’m thinking of DR Cilla today & hoping she is having a good day!

Back to cleaning.

Thanks Jane. It was a very long day and I still have several hours of work to do tonight. But individual voir dire is always my preference.  It's amazing what people tell you when they have to answer questions and can't just sit there quietly.  Either 14 or 15 were excused for cause and 17 will move on to the panel.   It's been interesting

I spent most of the afternoon watching THE HILLS. What young 20s angst. These girls dating these guys who treat them like dirt, and they continually wonder should I stay with him or not?

Honestly, this show makes me feel SO old. The problem is, though, that even at 23 (the age of three of the main girls), I seem to have been a lot more grounded emotionally and much more serious about career and the future than these folks.

The girls are certainly the focus of the show, but from the little bit we get to see of the guys who circle around these girls, they are all either total losers or very selfish, self-centered, and uncooth.

I'm probably not the right person to be reviewing this set, but it IS my job so . . . .

I would be the right person.

I love love love this show. And only a few more weeks till season 4.

I just discovered this show a few months ago. But watched every episode of every season online!

I am addicted!

Back from what appears to have been my last appointment with the foot surgeon.  He says that the swelling of my foot is normal and that no longer wearing my funny shoe will help.  Well, that's fine and dandy, except the only other thing I can get on my left foot is a fuzzy slipper.  Won't that look cute with my work clothes on Monday?

Just tell them you are starting a new fad

re: last night's MOLE

Before I left for lunch and after I got back, I watched about 2/3 of last night's episode of THE MOLE. As DR Jennifer was mentioned, some VERY suspicious behavior on the part of a couple of contestants.

I do think I know the Mole's identity, and this person is still there after I mis-guessed in Week 3, so I think I'm on the right track.

As you said in your other post, they make it hard to guess the mole's identity. Because some of them make and do stupid things (like clay and the math stuff was just so completely dumb). But obviously it was a) on purpose or b)he just made a ridiculous mistake.

But there are so many of them doing things on purpose. So now we have to wonder if nicole made the mistake on purpose. My guess is not. That one was very hard. And obviously both she and craig cannot be the mole.

I am looking for things that seem less obvious. I really have decided mark has been too smart to be the mole. Nicole could be the mole and that is why she could not leave with her mom (i knew she wouldn't).
My guess is still paul.
who is your guess now, DR Matth?

That sounds like an exhausting day. For everyone.

Especially the jurors sitting in the hallway all day only to be told to come back at 8:00 AM  Thank God the judge had tickets to see Neil Diamond or we may still be there

There was a huge downpour. and i could not get there until 15 minutes before the previews were going to start.

It was sold out!

Tuesdays are the most popular day for movies here and i forgot that.

I guess I must have missed the post where BK made some disparaging remark about, our friend, the anchovy.
BK has never, to my knowledge, made a disparaging remark about our friend, the anchovy.  Dear Reader Laura, on the other hand, seems to be fishy-phobic.   ::)

And I have little interest in anchovies on their own.  I'm also not partial to olives, never have been.  But I've found that, used as an ingredient, olives and anchovies have a way of bringing out very interesting things in other foods.
