It seems to me that someone on this hear website was looking for episodes of the old Jackie Cooper TV sitcome THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE.

Well, this guy just got it in stock...I have bought from him many times and have always been pleased. He has a great selection of vintage TV shows.

Good Afternoon!

DR Ron Pulliam - There is a great article about the resurgence of soft-serve ice cream in today's NY Times.  They mention a restaurant in Larkspur, CA, Pizzeria Picco.  Have you ever been there?  And, if so, have you enjoyed their soft-serve topped with spiced cantaloupe?

No, sad to say, I've not been there or done that.  But it sounds interesting.  When/if I find myself in (or near) Larkspur, I'll check 'em out.

I daresay skeeters don't stand a prayer in hell of breeding there.

That's what the " ;) " was for.   ;D

First floor vibes for DR GINNY.

DR JENNIFER - MTV may want you to believe that THE HILLS is a phenomenon, but it's actually a scripted show masquerading as a reality show that seems to perpetuate the 21st Century dictum that you can become famous without having any talent, being remotely attractive, and doing absolutely nothing - just because you are featured weekly on the TV box.

Such fame is unsustainable and leads to nothing.  Why it even exists is a mystery to most people.  It is not a phenomenon, it is a tool to sell useless products to a gullible audience, and a completely tainted set of role models for children whose lives have an empty space.

I am sorry you enjoy it - but I suppose it is an innocent waste of time for you as you do not aspire to any of its goals or lifestyles.

And that is MUCH MORE than I ever want to think about THE HILLS ever again in my life.

Well...  Here's a bit of humor (I think), and some off-key singing (I don't think), that some friends of mine put together.

*It's interesting how "Obama" doesn't quite scan properly.  ;)

I will say that a show like THE HILLS makes me wish that Harlan Ellison was doing television criticism again.

Thanks for this, Mike.  I just ordered "People's Choice", "Courtship of Eddie's Father" and "Carol Burnett and Friends".

Well, I'm hoping that the "bois" now have a "documented reason" why they aren't getting cast in shows as often as they'd like. ;)

"Carol Burnett and Friends".

These are the half-hour edited versions.  I'm still awaitin' the legitimate release of the original full hour episodes.  Apparently they started the series on a subscription basis on Time-Life, but the project discontinued before completion.

IF the current Lupone Gypsy revival recording ever gets released, [whoops, I've lost DR Tomovoz!] there is a rumor that a two-disc version will be available from Barnes & Noble with extra bits of recorded dialogue.

There's a GRUNCH of them -- 47 episodes -- on this set.  I ain't got no Burnett on DVD.  And the wait for the unedited material may be a long one.  I ain't got forever.

Hmm... Although, I thought the new recording was going to be a two-disc affair anyway?  ???

Now as for the extra bits of dialogue... If that does come to fruition, I wonder if that will serve as a way of documenting some of the tweaks that Mr. Laurents made to the dialog for the revival.  -Which were not there last summer.  :-\

"I Ain't Got Forever" -- that's the subject of my rant on "Rant-A-Rama", should it ever become a series.

I won't hold my breath, 'cause I ain't got forever.

I just ordered the region 2 set of 3 Douglas Sirk Universal-International movies on DVD. Got tired of waiting for a region 1 set.

The set includes:

ALL I DESIRE

THERE'S ALWAYS TOMORROW

INTERLUDE

I have never seen INTERLUDE, but it stars Keith Andes, who I like  very much.

Speaking of Lupone in Gypsy - one of my friends from here who saw it last month said Patti did the performance in slippers due to a foot injury.  Maybe I should follow her lead...
