I think I may be catching a cold. Luckily I have a stash of Advil Cold and Sinus. I took one and that seems to be doing the trick for now.

I would have taken something to head of this cold, if only I had known I was sick.  I was feeling fantastic & thought the tender throat was due to the smoke.

I hope you stay well.

Nope, but I am still curious as to WHY you are going to KF. ;D

You are the second person today who's asked me that.  Short answer:  our timeshare has units there.  Longer answer:  we dilly-dallied so long planning this year that our options were limited and there were rooms down there, plus Betsy and the kids have never been to Crater Lake.  The resort is supposed to be beautiful, with horses, hiking trails galore, biking, etc., so it's not like we're spending the week in "downtown" KF.

;D  And do you expect to see me carrying Sherlock?

We still do not have a camera.  I can assure you, even if we did, no one is taking a photo of me today!

And there's the real truth - there are no sharks in Crater Lake!

Only the second person ;D

Crater Lake is very nice.  Have you done a search on the waterfalls in the area?  You should be able to find a few nice ones to visit.

Is the resort in KF or Crater Lake?  I spent the day visiting a resort with friends.  They were considering purchasing property for when they retire.  I insisted we drive through the town before returning home.

I'm going to AAA tomorrow to get all the info.  Years ago when I did Crater Lake and KF, I remember turning off of I5 somewhere by Salem and taking a little state highway that went by Silver Lake Falls or something like that.  Maybe we'll do that this time, too.  Betsy loves KF--she goes there on solar energy business quite a bit, and there right in the smack dab middle of downtown is a building named Semon Hall--Semon being Betsy's maiden name.

I searched through the photos of Sherlock as a puppy, and there isn't a single one of me holding him. ;D

I know I carried him, and I know there is one of me holding him at 4 weeks old, except only my hands are in the photo.  We were doing close-ups of the puppies to compare them.

I will give Mr. Cameron a few more kudos:

1. Casting Gloria Stuart.
2.  Filming the wreck on location.

Although, I will give Cameron kudos for filming at the wreck, his Russian submersible pilots also ran into the side of the wreckage and almost destroyed the remainder of the bow section.

You can't expect him to get laid in New York when you keep him locked out on the fire escape.

When I drove my friends through KF it looked nicer than I remembered.

There are some nice falls in Prospect but i think that is out of your way.  I'm sure you will find other falls to visit.  When you do please let me know where they are.  Maybe our family can visit them next week when they are in KF.

My Father is reasonably well (He does have a slight head cold). He is still quite mobile and still jokes with the staff at his hostel. He is the oldest resident.

I've just telephoned. I shall visit him tomorrow and get him "on track" for a short while so that he can remember who I am. (and of course where the family fortune is buried). My youngest brother Chris (who is is finacial carer etc) is in Beijing - but not for 55 days.

The Pacific Northwest's (Puyallup) Megan Jendrick (Quann) didn't exactly set any world records in her 100 meter breaststroke event, but she did make it to the semi-finals.  So far so good!

To the east of the Rogue Valley, lies the Cascade Mountain Range. This area features the upper Rogue River, Crater Lake National Park, Mount McLaughlin, spectacular waterfalls near Prospect and mountain lakes such as Diamond Lake and Lake of the Woods. On the other side of these mountains, lies Klamath Falls, home to farmers, ranchers and Native Americans. Klamath Falls features an Amtrak stop and a slice of the rural west as it has existed for a hundred years. Nearby are wildlife sanctuaries (migratory home to bald eagles) as well as the unearthly landscape of lava beds and well marked lava tube caves. To the east of Klamath Falls lies a high desert plateau stretching to Idaho punctuated by spectacular and remote sites - such as Hart Mountain, the Steens Mountains and Hell's Canyon.

Thank you DR's for the Birthday greetings. My father shall no doubt ask someone what year it is now and then calculate his age. His has short term memory issues but his mind is quite agile. He is still quite capable of completing crosswords.

The only two kudos I will give Mr. Cameron is

1)  His attention to detail on the interiors of the ship, and
2)  The shocking but very realistic final scenes showing the
death of nearly 1600 peopl must have been like.
Most of the Titanic films have avoided detailing that reality.

What I'm talking about are details, such as the photos that survive from a passenger who got off at Cherbourg of a man with a black top coat and his son playing with a top.  It is that man's coat that Jack takes and the son is playing with the top just as he is in the photo.

Mr and Mrs. Strauss of Macy's fame died together because she refused to get off the Titanic.  He shows them together in the end.

There are countless other little details from the survivor accounts that are in the movie. They are in the background, mind you, but they are there

Eileen Herlie, who played Laurence Olivier's mother in HAMLET, is 13 years younger than Olivier.

Jessie Royce Landis, who played Cary Grant's mother in NORTH BY NORTHWEST, is 8 years older than Grant.

And Estelle Getty was a year YOUNGER than Bea Arthur.
