To the left is what's left of the Kreeger - the proscenium house. To the right is the Arena (Fichlander Stage) - the "round house". In the middle is the beginning of the new "Cradle" space. That used to be part of the parking lot and office spaces.

That photo is on the Safari news feed's home page - what sort of swimming suit is he wearing because you wouldn't know he was wearing any from that photo, which I find rather obnoxious (and I'd find it equally obnoxious if it was a woman).

BTW, while at the bank today I asked to cancel a credit card I never use--and never wanted in the first place. I was told that since I've only had it two years I shouldn't cancel, that that would show up as some sort of black mark on my credit. Apparently, once an account is opened you should keep it for at least three years, even if you never use it. You can, however, consolidate two or more accounts with the same bank, with no ill effects.

I've also noticed that banks are coming up with all sorts of new rules to justify additional charges.

After documenting the construction progress at Arena Stage, I hopped back the Green Line, then on to the Orange Line to head out to Merrifield. Once I was there, I met up with my dear friend, Leigh. It's been a year or two since we've seen each other in person, and I'm so glad that it worked out schedule-wise for both of use to get together tonight for dinner.

We headed on over to one of our favorite places, Sweetwater Tavern. She had their always amazing Cheddar Burger, and I treated myself to their Prime Rib. The food, as always, was very good, however, our server tonight was surprisingly and uncharacteristically "absent" for a good portion of our meal. -However, I did happen to notice him having a "discussion" with one of the managers at one point during our meal, so.... Ah, well. In any case...

We had a great time catching up. And dishing, of course.

However, I have noticed that if you happen to tell a customer service rep that you've been thinking of taking your business elsewhere, it's amazing how they can suddenly waive some of those fees. Hmmm...

Well, a bunch of the clerks at Pentagon City - who were on the ground floor - kept thinking that they were moving something HUGE on one of the upper levels. And then when I saw some of the lighting strikes striking the new stadium in DC, well... WOW!

For all the DRs who don't have Netflix subscriptions, I had an email from them early this morning saying that they had a shipping problem and that the DVD I was expecting today was most likely delayed. No cover-up, no denial; they admitted they had a problem and notified their customers (at least some of us--I can't speak for everyone) right away. They also said they'd give us credit for the "missing" days. That's the sort of customer service I like. I understand that problems occur; from what I can see, they're handling it quite well. The rest, of course, remains to be seen.

And, yes, there was dessert tonight too. Since I was at Sweetwater, I just had to have my "regular" - their Flourless Chocolate Waffle with Vanilla Ice Cream. (Which originally came with house-made Macadamia Nut Brittle Ice Cream - which I still prefer and miss.)

Sometimes it seems that the Flourless Chocolate Waffle is calling me, and not vice versa...
